A Tale of Two Loves
Chapter One
She knew she should get over her little fantasy, for it would never become reality, but she couldn't help falling in love with the handsome man. He always rode through town and stopped at her little cart for jars of spiced peaches, caramel apples, and sweet pies. Always giving her a lovely smile before he rode off. She couldn't help but fall in love with him.
It was always the same, everyday; she would set up her cart and put out her homemade foods and remedies. Every man in town loved her foods and her, many times her brother Ronald would have to fight the men off for they wouldn't leave. She sat by and watched helplessly as riots broke out all because of her. She had many proposals but turned all off them down because the only person she was interested in was him.
Of course the man had no idea what so ever of her feelings and went on about his days. One day when he came by her cart she had enough courage to start a conversation.
"Good day, sir," she said in her soft voice, "Good day, mam, do have those delicious peaches yet again today?" he asked in his smooth, deep, voice. She nodded and pulled out a jar, he surveyed her with his pale eyes and smiled deeply.
"You're a very pretty woman, I'm sure you have a many suitors," he said, "Yes, but I've turned all of them down," she responded and placed the jar in his basket.
The man had shock written all over his face, he then smiled sheepishly and tousled his blond hair so that it fell back into his eyes.
"You really should let your hair back in a wrap, sir," she said with a small smile.
"And you should let your hair down from that bun, mam," he said with a smirk gracing his features. "What's your name?" he asked, "Ginevra," she responded and pulled out a large apple pie.
Ginevra blushed lightly at his intense gaze, "Ginevra, would you like to go on a secret trip with me?" he asked.
"Oh, my, I don't even know your name," she said teasingly, "Dranier, is my name," he said and smiled.
"You're such a tease, you know," she said and looked down towards the ground, "I won't be toyed with."
"I have no intentions of toying with you, Ginevra," he said and stared her in the eyes, her knees went weak.
"Liar," she said and began mashing peaches into a bowl, "All men are filthy liars," she finished. "I won't be taken for a fool," she began mutilating the peaches, "No, no, not Ginevra Weasley."
"I won't play you for a fool, I just need some trust from you," he said desperately and grabbed her hand.
"Ride away," she began in a soft voice, "Ride away on your fancy horse and leave this poor peasant girl alone!"
"But-" he started, "I just want to get to know you, Ginevra."
"Leave me alone!" she screamed and turned away with tears running down her cheeks.
The royal guards came walking up, "Is this scumbag bothering you, miss?" they asked grabbed his arm.
"Remove your hands from me!" he said and they looked to his face, their eyes went wide with fear.
"My Lord, we, u, we-" they began and dropped his arm, "Are bumbling idiots," he finished.
"We're very sorry, Prince Dranier," they said and swept themselves into bows almost to low to the ground.
Ginevra gasped, "My Lord, I-" she began.
"It's alright, I didn't mean to impose, forgive me," Dranier said and began to ride off.
"You left your peaches!" she called, "And your coins," she whispered to herself with an ashamed look. "He must think of me terribly rude," she thought and sighed, "Another mistake, Ginevra, another mistake," she said and stared out at the lowering sun.
