'I was always a coward.' Alice thought wearily, pulling the quilt up to her chin, a light frown playing on her features. She was holding the phone in her hands. She flipped on her side, groaning. She was never going to get the courage. Never, she told herself. The door opened and Alice closed her eyes, feigning sleep.

"Hey Alice!" Mayura called out happily. Alice sat up, watching her sister pull out of her coat. She gaily bounced on the heels of her feet, cheeks flushed. She had obviously had a better night than Alice.

"Hi sis." Alice replied, draping her legs over the edge of her bed. Her attention was still turned to phone, the pillows of her fingers ghosting over the familiar numbers, "How was your night?" Though she was really asking, how is your boyfriend? Mayura smiled, turning to face her sister. She had obviously been dying for Alice to ask her.

"Oh Alice it was so amazing. I met Kyo's family, he lives with his aunt and uncle, and they are so nice! We got to eat the best cake that his aunt made, they own that little bakery," Alice, of course, already knew that though.

"And he looked so handsome," She gushed, pausing to sigh dreamily, tugging out her hair tie, letting her long hair tumble down her shoulders in light waves. Alice fingered her own hair enviously.

"Well, that was my night, what have you been up too?" She begins combing her hair with Alice's brush. Alice doesn't say anything. Alice looks at Mayura; she smiles lightly, "Tatsuya asked me to lunch tomorrow."

Mayura stood up, grinning, "I am so happy for you Alice! I just knew Tatsuya would be great for you!" She hugged her sister.

"I should go then?" Alice asks, she was staring at the phone.

"Well duh, Alice. Jeez, you can't expect Tatsuya to show interest if you don't, right?" Mayura rolled her eyes, releasing her sister and beginning to change into her pink plaid pajamas.

"Call him okay?" Mayura requested over her shoulder. Alice nodded. "Than give me the phone, okay, I'm going to call Kyo to wish him good night. And who knows, maybe he'll even tell me he loves me." The girl giggled, flouncing into the bathroom. Alice bit into her bottom lip.

Slowly, she found the right keys. She listened to it ring, greatly considering hanging up when Tatsuya answered.
Alice lost her voice, chocking back her tears.
"Alice?" He asked.

She furiously brushed back her stubborn tears and answered, "I'm….calling to tell you that…I'd love to go out to lunch with you tomorrow."

'I've always been a coward.'
