Alien Vs. Predator - Total Extinction
Chapter One
It was dark as he ran through the streets of Manhattan, but he knew he couldn't escape it. It followed him... watching his every move from high on the city rooftops. It had already killed his partner and now it wanted him. For once in his career as a cop, John Ripley was afraid. Why was this shapeless entity chasing him... hunting him? He had to get back to the police station. He had emptied an entire clip from his Colt .45 into the beast's transparent torso, but the thing still stalked him. How can he fight something he can't even see?
He rounded a corner and found himself only a block from the station. He had to hurry, but the beast was much faster than he was. He could never outrun it in this concrete jungle. He turned just in time to see a large projectile fly past his head, only inches from the tip of his nose. The strange pronged object pierced into the concrete side of the building beside him. He looked back from where the object came and saw nothing. He had a feeling the hunt was over... he was safe...for tonight.
John sat in his apartment smoking a cigarette. He knew it was a nasty habit, but he wasn't perfect. He knew the creature would come back for him eventually, and he would be ready. He laid out his weapons in front of him. First was his favorite, his 45 caliber Colt 1911 Combat Commander. Next were his twin 9mm Beretta M9's, two very nice handguns. Last was his 9 mm Mac 10 automatic, with an extended magazine for a trigger happy shooter. If he couldn't take out his enemy with this assortment, then it just couldn't be killed. Yet there was still one last weapon. One only used for special occasions. One that wasn't exactly legal. John opened the door of his closet, reached onto the shelf, and pulled out a large wooden box. The old hinges creaked as he opened the lid. Inside was the most beautiful gun ever created. It was a godlike mass of steel and wood. It was a 12-gauge, double-barreled, sawed off shotgun with a walnut stock, a barrel made from the finest blue steel, and a hair trigger. If his other guns can't stop the beast...this will. And now he sat... waited... he forced himself to stay awake. He had to. But it was late... and he was tired... so he closed his eyes... and drifted to sleep. Little did he know... a war was coming. A War of the Worlds. A war which would be fought... on Earth.
