It was nearly midnight and most of Gryffindor tower was sleeping. I say most because in the common room, on the rug in front of the fire, sat a lone fifth year, clutching a ragged teddy bear and rocking back and forth.

It was a girl. She had long red hair and was wearing emerald green pajamas – not a flattering combination. The teddy bear was a dull gray and it was hard to tell if it had originally been black or white. There was stuffing sticking out of one side where it had been poorly stitched up after one accident or another and both its left ear and right eye were missing.

The girl was none other than Ginevra Weasley, and the teddy bear, which had been given to her by her grandmother at her birth, was getting soggy from her tears. She began to whisper into the bears remaining ear and it was barely audible above the crackle of the dying fire.

"You've always been there for me, snowy," so apparently the bear had been white, "Whenever I fell and scraped my knee, you were always waiting on my bed, just waiting to make me feel better. You were there when I fell off the back of Fred's broom and broke my arm and two ribs. You were there the time Percy pulled my hair and called me his 'ugly little pig of a sister' and made me cry. You were there the time we were all playing quidditch in the house and Bill knocked over Mum's grandmother clock and she went ballistic and grounded us all for a month."

She shifted positions so that she was lying on her stomach, with her chin resting on Snowy's head, staring away from the fireplace into the empty common room.

"You were there when I started at Hogwarts. You were there when Malfoy made fun of me. You were there when I was hung up on Harry," she paused to let out a particularly violent sob, and then continued," You were there all of those times. And each time you made me feel better," she stood up and went to lie on a couch, taking the bear with her.

"And you're still here now. But there's one major difference – you can't make me feel better. Now, don't feel too bad, it's not your fault. The problem is just too big this time." She rolled over and let out a big sigh.

"This problem is just too much. It's gotten out of control and I have no idea what to do about it. These feelings are just too much. And they're wrong. I shouldn't be having these feelings, not for him anyway. I mean, there's no way they could ever be returned. And even if they were, we couldn't do anything about it. We couldn't tell anyone."

She let out another sigh as a few house elves quietly entered the common room. They began to clean up, and it was about five minutes before one of them spotted her.

"Miss Wheezy?" Dobby asked, shaking her lightly, "Miss Wheezy? Are you alright Miss Wheezy?"

But she didn't hear him, she was already asleep. Dobby sighed as he covered her with a maroon blanket, embroidered with the Gryffindor lion, and then went on with his cleaning. When he was done he glanced at her again, and then wished her sleeping form a good night as he put out the fire and left the common room to finish his route.

As Dobby left a single tear fell down Ginny's cheek as she slept peacefully, dreaming of her brother.
