Lil one shot that popped into my head when I was looking for a new fic to read. Enjoy!
Naruto sighed. It was that time again. The time of the day that he hated the most. The time of the day that would undermine all the self-esteem and confidence he had built up during the day.
This was the time of day that managed to depress him no matter what he did. The only time more depressing would rear its ugly head in about four hours. But now was when the cold stares and whispered insults came back to haunt him. This was when he wished the hardest that the fox would let him kill him self. Kami knows he has tried. But its no use, he just wont die. Hell, even being thrown off a cliff cant do him in!

Heh, wouldn't that be a kick in the face. Oh well, maybe he will out live the present villagers...maybe he'll outlive their eyes. Doubtful, very doubtful. Naruto idly wondered if anyone would notice if he left. Shaking his head hard and banging it against the wall for good measure, Naruto came back to reality. Of course they would notice! He could hear the conversations now. 'The Kyuubi has escaped!' 'The monster left!' 'We cant let him fall into enemy hands!' 'oh no, were did our secret weapon run off to? I bet he's at the Ramen Bar.'
He snorted as he saw a villager in his mind's eye looking under rocks around Ichiraku. Shaking his head, much more gently this time around, he sighed and walked toward his room. He couldn't delay it any longer. He had a mission in the morning after all. Looking at his clock, he saw it was about a quarter till midnight. Damn, why cant he just skip this part and go to that empty feeling the morning leaves him with...the feeling truth leaves him with. Kami how he hated everything. Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, every last villager, even Hokage, he hated everyone. But most of all he hated himself. He hated the way he couldn't leave. He hated the way he hid behind a mask. He hated being to weak to be acknowledged. He hated the way he proved the villagers right every single night.
He hated that demons don't dream.
