I Saw Him

Chapter 5: Unexpected Events

CAESAR

"So everyone knows what to do?" I asked them seriously and they nodded, "you go first Rajah," I told my sister and she nodded and with a quick grin hurried towards the Ishtar residence.

"HELP! HELP!" I heard Rajah shout to the guards as the others and I hid behind a nearby sand dune, "my friend's sick and needs a doctor!"

I watched a majority of the guards follow her and I knew they would since our family was important people in Egypt. I sighed and hoped that Kyle could properly play the part of an ill person who suddenly starts to see things.

"Your turn Ishizu," I said and she moved quickly towards her task.

"HALT!" I heard the five male guards order, "you are no longer welcomed here Miss Ishtar!" they told her in unison.

"I want to speak to my brother," Ishizu said defiantly, "and there's nothing..."

"The Ishtar boy has gone MAD!!!!" a servant cried as she ran out the door interrupting Ishizu, "he just killed his father!" she cried and fell to her knees as she started to sob.

I decided that there was no use in doing an ambush. I hurried from behind the sand dune to Ishizu's side. I heard the quick movement of feet behind me and guessed that Serenity and my lady servant Cleo followed me.

"What's this about Marik killing his father?" I demanded and just then the guards bowed in my presence, "forget that!" I cried in annoyance, "what happened?"

"You have to ask her," one of the guards told me and pointed at the servant who just ran out of the house, "excuse us but we need to check on our master," he said and they all went inside.

ISHIZU

"Forget her!" I cried, "I'm going to find Mar...!"

But I was interrupted by an evil sounding outburst of laughter inside. I ran in and saw a horrifying sight. My brother Marik was laughing maniacally and striking down anyone who was near to him with the Millennium Rod.

"Well hello sister," a deep voice very different from my brother said to me and he stopped hurting people, "how have you..." he started but stopped when he seemed to notice something behind me, "what are you doing here?"

I turned around to see Serenity standing not too far from me with Caesar by her side. But Serenity looked even more frightened than I did.

SERENITY

"It's you," I said softly with wide eyes, "that day when I saw Ishizu's brother," I said, "I recognize your eyes," I told him, "there's something about your eyes."

"Yes," the male voice said, "it was me you saw looking around so curiously" he confessed, "you see, when Marik first went topside I wasn't created," he revealed, "so until he was let out on the day that saw I you," he continued, "I had never been out in the fresh air or felt the sun on my bare flesh that has it's own barbaric heat but also strange beauty," he admitted.

"Where is my brother?" Ishizu demanded angrily, "what have you done with him!" she snarled loudly.

"What's your name?" I asked suddenly unable to hide my curiousity, "mine's Serenity," I told him.

"You can just call me Marik2 if you don't want to confuse us," Marik2 answered me simply, "I haven't done anything to your brother," he said seriously now speaking to Ishizu, "I'm just his split personality," he explained, "and I killed your father," he added.

"Why?" Ishizu snarled.

"Your father is mad," Marik2 said angrily, "he was beating Marik with his golden cane when I took over and killed him in anger," he told her, "if you don't believe me look," he said seriously and took off his dirty tattered white shirt.

All of us including myself gasped. His shoulders were covered with purple bruises, some of them had gauze on them but there were a few that looked swollen. He then turned around and showed us his back which not only had similar bruises all over it but lashes as well.

"Marik2!" I shrieked suddenly and ran to kneel down beside him and grabbed his waist, "I'm sorry about what happened you!" I cried as I clung to him, "murder is wrong but you had to defend yourself from that man!"

MARIK2

I looked down at the sobbing girl.

She doesn't even know me yet she pities and feels for me so. What's up with that? And why am I feeling so cozy with her clinging to me like this? (Marik2's thoughts)

"We should leave," Ishuzu spoke up suddenly, "I'd like to speak to my brother," she commanded me.

"He passed out as I took him over," I told her trying to keep my temper in check, "blame your father for that," I snapped and quickly put back on my shirt.

I took up Serenity in my arms. She looked up at me in surprise but I only gave her an emotionless look then turned my attention to the others.

"Let's go," I stated and we left quickly.
