Author's Notes:
Hello everyone. My name is , but you can call me Tiffany. Cybersphere is sick (probably from final exams), so he asked me to write in the next chapter for him. He gave me the format and the text for the chapter, and I'm supposed to stick to stick to it very carefully. Of course, that doesn't mean I can't improve a few things here and there. (evil grin)
I present to all of you, the story of the conversation between the beautiful, gifted, and angelic Tiffany and the semi-competent so-called Yami.
------------------------------------
Chapter 13: Truth?
Tiffany's parents weren't even home when she arrived. She tried not to let it get her down.
Instead, she went strait to her room and set the Millennium Puzzle on her bed. This was going to be a special occasion, her first conversation with Yami, and she wanted to do it right. She took a shower, got all cleaned up, and put on her best dress. Then she put the puzzle back on and concentrated.
"Yami? Yami? Where are you?" Tiffany asked. "Please answer me."
I guess I'd better get this over with, I decided. There's no sense in hiding any more.
"Hello Tiffany," I replied in her mind.
She squealed with delight. "I knew it. There really is a spirit in my puzzle. It is just like the TV show."
I let the comment slide. "Congratulations on the Tournament. You managed to win it on your own."
"Is that what you were doing?" she asked. "Letting me win on my own. You must have a lot of faith in me."
I felt a little guilty, but I tried to hide it. "You even surpassed my expectations. I didn't think you had learned to do a destiny draw yet."
"Destiny draw?" she asked. "You mean like the new card I got? Is that a power of the puzzle?"
I tried to come up with a good answer, but she didn't give me a chance. "What other powers does the puzzle have? Can it really grant wishes? Am I going to have to play any Shadow Games? How long have you been inside the puzzle?"
"Please slow down," I interrupted gently. "I have been in the Millennium Puzzle for a while now, though even I don't know all the powers that it possesses. You will have to learn with time how to use it, but I will be there to help you."
I felt Tiffany blush inside. "You know, I always dreamed of having a Yami, but I kind of expected it to be a... Well, I thought since I'm a girl, my Yami would have to be one, too. But you're not a girl, are you?"
I didn't like the way this conversation was heading. "No, I'm not."
"So you're the real Yami," she gasped. "The Pharaoh from Egypt that sealed the Shadow Realm and created the Millennium Items!"
"You've been following the TV show very thoroughly, haven't you?" I surmised. I really did NOT want to answer the question.
"I can't see you inside my mind like Yugi could," Tiffany said. "Can you make yourself appear here in the room?"
"No," I replied sadly. "I am not strong enough to do that yet." It was the truth, sort of. "I must rely on your body to interact with the outside world."
Tiffany seemed disappointed. "So the only times you know what's going on are when we join spirits?"
"Oh, I can always see what's outside through your eyes," I replied. "In fact, I can get strong impressions through all of your senses without joining souls. It is a trick of reading your free thoughts and impressions."
That made her really blush and even panic a little. "So you always know what I'm thinking or doing?"
"Sort of," I replied, not really understanding what she was getting at. "You can keep thoughts secret from me. All you have to do is consciously try. Plus, any time you aren't touching the puzzle, I lose contact with your mind."
"But before," she said nervously, "when I didn't know about you, I would wear the puzzle to bed, or even in the showers. You couldn't see me then, could you?"
I couldn't help but laugh. I had been so worried that I would make a slip, say the wrong thing, and she would learn the truth. Yet here she was, worried about young girl things. I was also happy that this question, atleast, I could answer with complete truth.
"I can see through your eyes, but I can't see you," I assured her. "Not unless you have a mirror."
She was relieved, but also a little disappointed. "So you don't know what I look like?"
"Walk over to the mirror," I replied.
She did, and I got to see her. She certainly was all dressed up, but I noticed a tear starting to form in her eye.
I searched her mind a little more in depth, knowing that she could feel it, and found the reason for her tear.
"Yes Tiffany," I replied. "The puzzle has chosen you. From this moment on, we are friends."
------------------------
Some friend. I'm looking at Cybersphere's notes. Yami is, to put it mildly, being less then honest with Tiffany. Shame on him, messing with her feelings. He'll learn from his mistake, though.
Next chapter will be posted by Cybersphere. I don't want to do this again. Sorry, but its just too weird writing a story about yourself. So long readers.
Please R&R. It's a big encouragement to him to hear from you, comments or critiques.
