Chapter Two

"You can't get the Ring from the book!" Nora sheepishly said. "I mean... even I have to admit it's fictional!"
"I can make it real if someone goes into the actual land of course." A red comb appeared in her hand and she began to comb her thick, red hair.
"What do you want me to do, Miss. Devil, get the Ring for you?" Nora asked sarcastically.
"In a matter of fact, yes. Oh and, please don't call me 'devil', I just feel so evil when people say that name. Let's see, call me... Adrienne." The comb disappeared from her hand.
Nora stared at her. "Why can't you just get it yourself and..." she frowned. "Isn't Adrienne French for Dark One?"
"Yes isn't it just the cutest name? And no, I can't get it myself it's against the rules of course, because Him and I have so much power, well, actually he has more power then me, there has to be some things that stop us from getting everything we want and so I had to find someone that's absolutely obsessed with the Lord of the Rings fictional characters and well, that came straight to you Nora dear."
"But how do you know my wishes will all be about well...Lord of the Rings?"
"Oh, but not all of them of course, I can't read your mind, (she laughed at that part), but I trust some one of them will, yes."
By now, Nora was thinking that somehow she was hallucinating. "Well, ok." she said finally. "When do my wishes start?"
There was a satisfied smile on Adrienne's face. "Oh you agree Nora? That's wonderful! Lets see... now all you have to do is sign on this form."
She pointed her finger at the air and a single piece of clean white paper with typed words fluttered to the ground.
Nora picked it up and began to read aloud,
"Number One: A limit of ten wishes can be granted.
Number Two: The Ring must be taken during the ten wishes.
Number Three: If there are any problems, just say "cancel wish" and you'll be taken out of your wish.
Number Four: To agree, sign your name in blood below."
Nora stuck out a finger from her left hand, and took out a safety pin from her pocket. She quickly pricked herself and a small pool of dark, blood came out.
Adrienne held the form out and Nora ignoring the sharp pain, squeezed the tip of her finger tightly and signed.
It came out smeared, but was still readable.
"Excellent Nora! Your such a brave dear to injure yourself like that, now, what would your first wish be then?"
I might as well get her the ring now, Nora thought, and then have any wish I want. "I wish I could go to Middle Earth, when the Fellowship still existed."
"Well, good luck Nora." The Devil waved her hand once and the air swirled in front of her.

It seemed as if everything was being blurred, but all of a sudden the surroundings were refocused, and she found herself standing on a stone street path in the dark of night.
There seemed to be a sort of chill around her, a sense of fear.
Her hair was getting damp and there was steady fall of rain from the sky but the rest of her body felt warm. Nora examined her surroundings with amazement. She was standing beside an old inn and a wooden plaque hung above it which said "The Prancing Pony". The words had been carved out deeply, and then polished off. At the bottom of the plaque, there was wooden pony, which swayed a bit. There were other small houses around her but it seemed the inn stood out the most. It was lit with lights and there was sound of singing, laughing and talking from within.
"Exactly like the movie." Nora muttered to herself. She took a deep breath and was about to knock on the door but she stopped when she heard the sound of small footsteps getting closer.
Nora swung around to see four short people- hobbits walking towards her, wearing heavy cloaks. One of them stepped forward.
"Excuse me miss, is this the Prancing Pony?"
Nora couldn't help staring, "Umm.... yeah?" She pointed at the sign. "Who are you?" she asked quickly.
"Pip, she's an Elf! What would an Elf be doing in Bree, eh?" Another hobbit whispered loudly. He nudged him.
"Ouch! That hurts Merry!" Pippin faced Nora again looking rather embarrassed. "Sorry about that. Let's see, I'm Peregrin of the House of Took." He smiled proudly at the same time, pointed to himself. "My annoying friend here is Meriadoc Brandybuck, and that wider fellow their would be Master Samwise Gamgee oh and the silent chap beside Sam would be Mr. Frodo Baggins and he-"
But Frodo had covered Pippin's mouth with his hand. "Please excuse him," Frodo said quickly. "My friend enjoys talking too much and he talks nonsense. I am Mr.Underhill and these are my companions. Good day to you el- miss."
He hurriedly pushed open the wooden door and one by one, they disappeared into the inn. The door slammed shut leaving Nora once again standing alone.
An elf? Nora had been too busy looking at the surroundings that she hadn't noticed whether or not she had changed or not. Now that Nora noticed, she found that she was quite definitely, an elf. She was wearing a red and white dress underneath, and a heavy, green cloak was bundled around her and pinned together at the top with a blue jewel. Her hair was tied back neatly with two braids. There was a buckle tied around her waist with a sheath which held an elven sword inside.
Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the door and went inside the Prancing Pony.
