Disclaimer:
O.k. So me no own Princess Mononoke. But don't try to sue because you get no money out of this broke b. Me just wanna write, damn it!
The full moon hung in the sky, the stars glittered like an ocean of diamonds blanketing the earth. And somwhere deep inside a dark forest, a princess slept. Her cloak, made of an animal's skin was wrapped tightly around her for warmth. Her brothers were curled up and snoring soundly on either side of her. The princess dreamnt as she slept, of a love she had found but felt that she had lost to a species she hated. Ashitaka; his name was always on her mind. And she longed for the day when she would see him again.
"My young Lord, please, try to remain calm!" The old doctor kneeled beside the ill young man. His face was matted with sweat and his breathing was becoming more and more ragged. At that moment, a tall and elegant black haired woman entered the small room. The old man stood and bowed respectfully at her. "My Lady, I cannot do anything to heal him. Forgive me," he said and left the room. The woman stood where she was and watched the young man's hands tightly clutch at the animal skin that covered him. Wincing, she turned and closed the door behind her. "Toki, come here," the woman orded. A younger woman in a pink servant's uniform quickly approached. "Yes Lady Eboshi? What is it?" Lady Eboshi sighed and shook her head. "I'm afraid that there is no cure for Ashitaka. He is gravely ill," she explained quietly enough for only Toki to hear, who gasped and covered her mouth as if not to scream. The two women stood in a moment of silence. "Perhaps we should consider asking that wolf girl for help. She may be his only hope," Eboshi said finally, in a firm and serious voice. Toki nodded and quickly ran off. Eboshi's face quickly turned to a worried one as she looked up at the moon. Will her hate for us stopr her fom helping him, she wondered.
The princess's eyes suddenyl flashed open. Standing in a flash, she quickly picked up the lance that lay beside her. Her brothers awoke a moment after Saan had climed a tree to watch from above. Humans, what are they doing here? It was their smell that had woke her. Two largely built men stepped in front of her brothers, though at a distance and frowned at them. The two large wolves growled in warning for them to leave. "We come form Iron Town in search of the Wolf Princess," one fo them announced firmly. But even from the hight of the tree, Saan could smell their fear. But she listened intently. "Lord Ashitaka is ill and dying. We beleive that she is the only hope he may have to live." Saan's heart skipped a beat. Her brother's growls became menacing enough to make the men walk quickly away. "Saan," one fo her brothers called. She jumped to the ground. "I can't go to him," she said, as tears rolled down her cheeks. Her answer surprised her brothers. "Why?" the other asked. In a fury, Saan turned around and yelled, "Because he chose those filthy humans over me!", and ran off, sobbing. I won't help him. As much as I love him I won't. I'm sorry Ashitaka!
Ashitaka slightly opened his eyes and faced the ceiling. The pain he felt was slowly fading, just like the wooden ceiling he was looking at. He was finding it less difficult to breath. He sighed and closed his eyes. His fists unclenched and lay still and realxed by his side. I love you Saan, he thought, as he faded to an eternal blackness.
