Boredom

a/n: Mmm, yes. Once again I attempt to rise from the depths of apathy to write again. It's been ages since I wrote anything really, much less FE based. I recently put aside Tales of Symphonia for a second and picked up the good ole GBA again. Now, I'm hopefully revitalized and able to write for a while.
This is a Geitz/Dart one-shot. The first Geitz/Dart fiction period, I believe. I don't know. I just like this pairing
Dedicated to Amethyst Bubble. Happy Birthday! -squee!-... I hope you enjoy it! I hope hope hope!!
Disclaimer: I don't own Fire Emblem. I do own this short, pointless, minor character pairing one-shot though. X3

It was... cold. Geitz did not like the cold one bit. He enjoyed being recruited by a traveling army that would pay him to smash things, but he did not like going into the cold to do it. The warrior stood in the snow, picking up a Bolting tome that an enemy mage had most graciously 'given' him before passing away.
He quickly sauntered into the somehow even colder room after the doors had been unlocked. Matthew, the resident thief, gave Geitz a little nod before dashing off to raid whatever treasure he could get his 'nimble fingers' on.
Geitz had to quickly dispose of the few magic users in the room before he could relax and await new orders from the enigmatic tactician. As he waited, another figure came through the doors, shivering and rubbing his hand together.
"Cold as hell out there, ain't it?" Dart asked.
"You can say that again," Geitz answered. "So what're you doing here, pirate?" he asked. Dart shrugged.
"Tactician's orders. Wants me to stay out of trouble until they get rid of the druid up north," Dart answered, obviously annoyed at not getting to fight.
"Sucks to be you," Geitz laughed.
"...You're lucky I'm freezing my ass off or else I'd keel haul you."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. So, what're we gonna do until the pile of robes send us orders?" Geitz asked, taking a seat on the cold floor and wrapping his arms around himself. "I'm already bored as hell."
"You're ALWAYS bored as hell, ya bastard," Dart pointed out.
"Yeah... well... I don't see you helpin'! Aren't you pirates usually full of excitement and danger?!" Geitz accused.
"Yarr! You're impossible! Yer always complainin' but I don't see you doing a damn thing to change anything!" Dart snapped.
"I'm tryin', but there's nothing good! Why are you always on my goddamn case about that?! Did it ever occur to you that maybe I don't know what I need?!" Geitz snapped back, standing up to yell with Dart face-to-face.
Then, suddenly, time froze. For a brief second, the sounds of chaos stopped. There was no clash of lance on lance, or sword on sword outside. The snow itself even seemed to stop and hang suspended above the ground. Chapped lips on chapped lips in an amazingly soft kiss, for such a rough man. Even the enemy reinforcements slowly backed away, back down the stairs.
As Dart pulled back, Geitz was speechless. He stood there, gaping at what had just occured. Dart frowned, and turned to exit.
"Hey, just what was-" Geitz began. Dart cut him off,
"The druid's gone, didn't ya hear the tactician?... But... Don't go bitching about boredom and not knowin' unless ya want grown men goin' and kissing ya!" Dart explained loudly. After a pause, he added, "Yarr!" and then he left.
Geitz stills stood, flabbergasted, in the cold. He slowly remembered the advice Dart himself had given only a day before. 'Just throw yourself fully into the first thing you see.' Slowly, the big warrior grinned.
"The first thing I see, eh?" Geitz said to the air. He mused to himself for just a few seconds, before he decided. Screw tacticians orders, he thought as he dashed back out into the cold. He was following that first thing he saw.
