I don't own any of this, otherwise I would've made Hitomi less whimpy... and
Folken-sama would still be around...Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

La Lune

It had been a long day, spent politely squabbling with dignitaries from other kingdoms. He wasn't as proficient with his speech as some of them and more than once, he'd almost talked himself into a trap. Now he was out in the woods, drawn, as the shadows around him, towards the heart of the forest. The soft sound of the light drizzle dripping from the trees as his only companion.

Under the clouds of the night,

I walk toward the clearing...

At last he stepped put into the grove. A large mass sat to one side, guarding the graves that were marked here. Here was where she'd first come, and where she'd left. The clouds finally stopped dripping and began to break.

In a silvery burst, I see it,

The moon...

He smiled to see that it was only half full, neither here nor gone. There was such deep symbolism in that statement.

The clouds parted farther and a new shape took its place beside the incomplete silvery orb.

It wears the veils

Of eternity...

The Mystic Moon, or as she had called it, Earth. It was very close tonight. He could see all the lights blazing on the tiny sliver of dark-side that showed. The bright blue of its atmosphere warming him in ways that the sun never could.

Its halo embrace

The stars,...

Van grasped the pendant and silently made a wish for Hitomi as he stood in the clearing of Escaflowne.

...my moon.
