No one could have spotted her between the countless shelves of ancient tomes. Perhaps because, like them, she lay dusty and forgotten. She had always been a good student, but there was one lesson in particular that she found exceptionally difficult to swallow. However, the fact that a broken heart could not be so easily mended did not escape her. Experience was, after all, the best teacher. She would devote entire evenings to reviewing old notes and reworking old equations. As she would come to discover, the error did not like in the calculations, but rather in the problem itself.
A/N: I was struck with a small amount of inspiration the other day and wrote out a series of drabbles, hoping to convey some deeper emotion I believe to be present somewhere inside each one of these characters. I will be posting one a day for about a week, and in no particular order. In typical drabble style, there are precisely 100 words. Count them, if you must.
