Two Shinobi were standing at the edge of the cliff, looking over the horizon to where the Kekkai Barrier stood, separating the Ningenkai from the Makai.

"The bad thing is, if the Kekkai Barrier is open, all of he humans will be vulnerable to demon attacks. But also if it is opened, I can see her again."

"An' who woul' 'at be, Touy?" The Wind Master asked.

"...." he hesitated, "Mai, remember? I know it was several years ago, but I know you're memory isn't that dull." The blue haired Ice Shinobi replied.

"Oh... She's the fire lass, right? The Phoenix Girl?"

"Yes, Jin." Touya said, annoyed.

"Ain't there 'n easier way t' get to the Ningenkai? Y'know, through Spirit World?" Jin questioned, floating in the air.

"You know, I don't really know... It'd be worth a try. We'd be able to help Yusuke close the Kekkai Barrier. The last thing we need is some worthy opponents going to the Ningenkai and leaving us behind. Or a higher class demon killing Mai, for that matter," chuckled Touya, as he sat down to rest his tired feet from their journey up the steep hill.

"You think that she'd be good enough to be a Shinobi?" Jin asked.

"Probably. I remember the first time we fought..."

"Hey you! Touya, the Ice Master! You almost killed my friend Kurama, you bastard!" Mai said while running, blinded by tears by knowing that her love was almost shredded to bits by a piece of ice.

"Hnn...and who might this be?" Touya said, turning around.

He evaded quickly in hopes his stomach wasn't met with a fist. He quickly tried to form an ice barrier, but his stomach was soon met with a wooden pole. He quickly recovered and formed his well-known Ice Sword on his right forearm.

"Ha, easily destroyed!" Mai yelled as she lunged toward Touya, blowing fire from her mouth, quickly melting away the sword.
