Prolouge

KuroNeko's eyes fluttered open. She pushed herself up and rubbed her forehead. Her black cat ears twitched just as her brother burst into her room.

"Sukebe--" The look on his face was alarmed, almost scared. She had never known her brother to be scared.

"Kuro, we have to go! Where's your ship?"

"Sukebe, what is it? Tell me!"

Sukebe shook his head fiercely. Grabbing her arm, he pulled her outside. Kuro's olive green eyes widened. Where her homeland had once been, there was a sea of darkness.

"N-no...." She fell on her knees and her eyes filled with tears. Looking back up to gaze at the sky, she fell back. An odd creature had climbed out of the darkness and was slowly crawling towards her. She felt a great pain and saw something red coming from her chest. She could feel the life being drained out of her. Then the creature was gone, her brother breathing heavily. His claws were out. Pushing herself up, she felt rather odd. It was as if a peice of her was missing. Sukebe put a paw on her shoulder.

"We have to go.... Before it's too late.."

Gulping and blinking away her tears, Kuro took his hand and led him to a large area of trees. Hidden by the trees, there was a clearing where a large feral cat stood. They leapt up to the top and climbed in through a door. She sat and started typing things into a computer.

"I haven't finished all the adjustments yet, so I don't know how it will fly..."

"Knowing you," He smiled. "I'm sure it'll be fine."

Kuro smiled back and started up the ship.

Kuro awoke, staring up at the bright sun. At her feet, she felt water. Her legs were itchy and she could feel something like grain beneath her. What was that strong smell of salt? Where was Sukebe? Where was she?
