Author's Note: This story takes place some time after Sirius Black's death. It starts at headquarters... it's night and the place is empty except for...
"Lupin, have you taken your potion?" Snape asked as he glided into the room.
"Yes," Lupin snapped.
"At least you aren't as foolish as Black. If it were him, he would have let grief stop him from taking it," Snape sneered.
"Don't talk about him," Lupin sighed.
"Who? The flea bitten mongrel?"
"Just shut up Severus!"
"I don't see why you would stop your life just because that bastard died."
"Just SHUT IT!" Lupin shouted. He stood up to face Snape. "You have no right to talk of him!"
"I have every right! He got himself killed. He was useless to the order! He was too immature to follow orders so it serves him right that he's dead! He cou-"
"Arrrrggg" Remus roared. Anger took over and his wolf instincts and strength kicked in. He punched Snape so hard that the spy was sent flying to the wall with a loud THUMP!
Snape, who was lying with his back against the wall, shook his head in an attempt to clear his vision. He raised a hand to the back of his head. When he looked at his hand there was blood dripping from it. He wiped the blood from his nose (where Lupin had hit him) and looked at the werewolf.
Lupin looked at his as if shocked by his own actions. "I... I... wu..."
Snape smiled, not his usual sneer, but a real smile. "Glade you finally released some of that anger," he remarked as he stood up.
Lupin's eyes widened.
"I don't really think it served him right," Snape whispered as he walked passed.
"Severus..."
Snape turned back. "Yes?"
"Thanks! And I'm sorry I hit you."
"I was my intention for you to do so - to relieve some anger and pain. I just didn't expect you to have such a hard punch."
"Must be the wolf," he smiled awkwardly.
"Yes, it must be the wolf," Snape confirmed before leaving the room. He called louder " Look at it this way - you gave me a free nose job."
Lupin laughed at the new side of Severus Snape.
