Sorry for the long wait. I thought I was going to finish my exams on the 21st of June, when I found out that I had another exam on the 1st. So I didn't have much time to write. But the good news is that I am finished with my exams and I am on holiday. So I shall be writing loads this week.

And a HUGE thanks to fallinstars09 for the review.

"Vin!" Chris yelled as he ran to the motionless body.

He fell to his knees near the body, to afraid to touch him. Vin lay on his stomach; his face was facing the other side.

Nathan snapped out of his shock as he ran to Vin and Chris.

He quickly went to he knees, near the body. He closed he eyes, silently praying that there would be a pulse. He raised he arm, moving it closer and closer to Vin's neck. He fingers touched his warm skin, he pressed in deeper.

"Thank you," he said in relief.

Chris looked at him with hopefully eyes.

"There's a pulse, help me turn him!" he ordered.

Chris smiled, and helped him.

They managed to turn Vin onto his back.

Chris gasped in horror as he saw the bloody uniform.

Nathan had seen it too.

"Chris I need you to apply pressure on the wound," Nathan said sternly.

Chris nodded, as he watched Nathan cut away the bloody shirt.

He could see the fear in Nathan's eyes when they saw the wound. Blood covered Vin's whole stomach.

"Chris, I need you to apply pressure now, he can't afford to lose any more blood," Nathan said,

Chris nodded as he took the towel Nathan had just given him. He raised his hand over Vin's small body, slowly bringing it on to the wound.

He put little bit of pressure each time, knowing that it was going to hurt him.

"Harder Chris," Nathan said softly.

Chris nodded, and with a heavy heart he pressed down hard.

"Agh!" Vin cried out in pain.

They looked down to see two pain-filled blue eyes.

"Sorry, but I have to stop the bleeding," Chris said sadly.

"Hurts," Vin gasped.

Chris winced when he felt the tension under his hands, he knew this was painful, he wished he could take the pain away.

Chris looked at Nathan who was looking in his bag.

"Chris," Buck spoke.

Chris looked to see that Buck was standing next to him. He knew that what he had just done was dangerous. He was a leader; he was supposed to look after everyone.

"Buck, I want you, Ezra and Josiah to do a scan, make sure this place is safe," Chris ordered.

Buck nodded his head.

"Will do," Buck answered.

"Buck when you do your scan, please look for a place where we can spend the night, and please get some wood. We are going to need a fire,' Nathan said.

Buck looked at Nathan then to Vin then back to Nathan.

"I shall do my best," Buck said.

"Thank you," Nathan replied.

Buck turned and left, he headed to where the others stood staring.

"How is he?" Josiah asked.

"He's alive. Look we have orders, Ezra, Josiah; I want you two to search for any signs of danger. I want you two to be on alert," Buck ordered.

Ezra and Josiah nodded, knowing that if they were distracted, it could mean their lives.

They made sure that they had their equipment, before they headed out.

Buck and JD watched them disappear into the woods.

"What must I do?" JD asked.

Buck looked at JD. He could see that JD was afraid.

"I need you to look for pieces of wood, we are going to need a fire, and I need you to find some more water," Buck suggested.

JD nodded.

"Umm…sir, what... I mean, is Vin going to be ok?" JD stuttered.

Buck looked back at their fallen friend, then back to JD.

"I hope so, now lets go," Buck said.

JD looked up in confusion.

"Sir?" he asked.

"We need to get some fire, and water, now let's go!" Buck ordered.

JD nodded and quickly went to gather some canteens.

Buck looked at JD; he knew he couldn't let JD go out alone, not when he was in shock.

As soon as JD was ready, they headed back into the forest, looking for some wood and water.

Chris became aware that everyone had left, he knew that meant that wasn't such a good idea, but he was just too concerned with Vin.

Nathan had taken out some medicine, and prepared the injection.

"Vin, I am going to give you something to help with the pain, ok," Nathan said.

Vin nodded.

Chris looked at Vin; his face was sweaty, and dirty. He had dark circles around his pain filled eyes. He looked down to his hands.

He gasped out in horror as he saw the blood that was seeping through his figures.

"Nathan!" Chris shouted.

Nathan looked at Chris's bloody hands, and then he looked back at Vin, who was now looking worried.

"Ssh, don't worry. I'm going to make everything ok, just relax," Nathan said in a smooth voice.

"Am I going to die?" Vin asked.

"NO! not with me on the job," Nathan said.

Vin smiled.

"Thanks doc," he said barely above a whisper.

"Sleep tight, I'll be here when you wake up," Nathan promised.

Chris watched as Vin's eye's closed, as he felt his body relax.

"Chris, you do that again, and I'll kill you!" Nathan said sternly.

Chris looked at Nathan in confusion, and then he realized that he had made Vin worried.

"I'm sorry, but he's bleeding badly," Chris said honestly.

"I know, I have to get that bullet out," Nathan said.

Chris paled.

"You mean it's still in him," Chris asked.

"Yes, I'm afraid so. I didn't see any exit wounds. We have to get it out, before it poison's him," Nathan said seriously.

"Dam," Chris signed.

Nathan quickly got out some equipment, getting ready for the operation.

"He won't wake up will he?" Chris asked.

Nathan closed he eyes and signed, before looking at Chris.

"He might, I don't have the right medicine to knock him out completely," he said sadly.

Chris silently cursed the war.

"I have to start, he won't make it if I wait any longer," Nathan spoke.

Chris nodded.

Before Nathan could start, they heard sounds coming from the woods.

Chris quickly picked up his gun and pointed it to the sounds.

Nathan saw Chris release the pressure from Vin's wounds. He cursed him silently as he quickly applied the pressure.

He left the thick warm sticky liquid seep through he fingers. He started to get worried; he looked at the cloth that was soaking in blood. There was just too much blood, and he still had to operate. He looked at his face that was looking flushed.

A fever was starting.

He felt he heart seized, the odds of Vin making it, were dropping with every second.

He looked at Chris, he saw him aiming at the last place they heard the noise.

His heart pounded against his chest as he heard the sounds coming closer and closer.
