Charlie sauntered up to Claire with his hands concealed behind him. "I saw a huge bear today." Charlie said this with such nonchalance that it made Claire grin.
"Did you now?"
"Indeed I did." Charlie was bouncing on the balls of his feet. "And guess what?"
Claire raised a questioning eyebrow. "Hmmm?"
"He was gulping down strawberries." Charlie was almost literally glowing with enthusiasm. "If I were to give you some," he hesitated a bit nervously, "would you hold a man's hand?"
Claire giggled. "For a man who braved voracious, gigantic foraging bears?" She held out her hand. "Oh yeah."
