Lost Freedom

A/N: Was my first story, now I've fixed it up a bit. Please enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own ANYTHING.

Alone. Nothing but the rhymic dripping of water from the ceiling.

Cramped. In a small cage barely big enough to stretch out in.

Cold. Kept in the damp dark basement of the warehouse.

But all that means nothing. It is nothing compared to lost freedom, the freedom I once had. The freedom to hunt, the freedom to run, the freedom to be with my loved ones. But not anymore. That's all been snatched from me so suddenly and violently . My mate and three pups were killed trying to escape from the wrath of these vile beings. I was pinned down and forced to watch them die and helpless to save them.

Humans ...

You commited an unthinkable crime! You ripped my world out from under me! You needed one Houndoom, ONE! You got your one but why did you kill the rest? A whole pack of about 25 Houndoom and Houndour were killed because you needed the strongest Houndoom you could find. The leader of the pack. You came with your metal guns and killed them all off one by one until you got to me. But you'll never have me. You can keep me locked up forever and you'll still never have me. My loyalty is still to the pack. Just because we're common around here you think you can just walk up and pick up one of us. Like there's plenty more to replace the ones you kill. I overheard you talking you know, you were saying how I was to be a prize. Humpf we'll see about that.

A door opens and a sliver of light shines through the dusty storage room. Four of you walk in ... walk in to get me. You open my cage door but that was your biggest mistake. Being a dark I can become invisible at will and when you opened my cage I ran past you leaving you the afraid one, leaving you the helpless one. You can hear my growling as I circle you, and you are absolutely helpless to my wrath. One of you tries to get away and make their to the alarm but that was his final and most stupid mistake. I charge, teeth bared, fully visible so he can look death in the eye. I attack. Claws ripping flesh, teeth shredding skin. I've defeated you but the other three run, one of them hits the alarm as they run up the stairs.

I run. I run so fast that I don't know where I'm going. I'm being pursued, up flights of stairs, so many stairs when finally I reach the roof on the 11th floor. 20 or so humans surrounding me backing me into a corner on the roof but I'm not going with them, I'm not going to be sold as a game prize. Like I said you'll never have me. I start running one last time and then jum. As I'm falling I think about my family and how I shall see them once again and then darkness comes and I've regained my freedom.
