This was written with Kagome and Inuyasha in mind, although it never directly refers to either of them. Written from Inu's POV.
Can you hear me, calling out to you?
Do you remember?
I am the one you left behind.
You slipped right through my fingertips.
I watched the smile fade from your face as you drifted into an eternal sleep.
I saw you fight for life, and fail.
But, I guess that's what makes living worth while.
Knowing that one day, you will die, and that nothing lasts forever.
It gives life value and meaning.
I would have done so much more, if I where only given the chance.
I still wonder what I did to deserve this.
To have you taken from me, never again to hear you sweet laughter ring through the air like bells.
Or see your innocent face, reflecting the radiance of the setting sun.
And feel the warmth of your touch, your arms holding me tight in an unconditionally loving embrace.
That's what I've been missing.
The soft whisper of your hand gently stroking my cheek.
It all hurts so much.
There's a terrible numb feeling, and nothing really matters anymore.
I can't live without you.
The days have been dragging by, each one longer than the last.
Every night I have cried myself to sleep, only to dream of you.
There is only one way to see you again.
Through this brightly shining blade.
How easy it would be to end it all.
Life doesn't have any meaning, not without you.
Not without your sweet smile that used to greet me every morning, or the quiet laughter that couldn't have been worth anything more in the world.
They say that time heals all wounds.
But I've found that a scar always remains.
So, was it any good? Or did it suck? Please tell me. Review!
