Theodore Jay Jarvis "T.J." Johnson, the Blue Astro Ranger, jogged through the Angel Grove Woods. Suddenly, he heard a martial arts yell.
"Whoa! Is somebody getting attacked?" he wondered. Concerned, he hurried in the direction of the cry he had heard.
"That's intense, Tommy," he heard a voice comment.
"Erutan?" T.J. queried. How would Tommy know him? he silently asked himself.
"Thanks. Made up the kata myself," the Ranger heard his predecessor say. Suddenly, he stepped on a twig.
"Somebody's coming," Tommy said tensely. He fell into a defensive stance.
"Take it easy. It's just me," a voice said as the figure stepped into the clearing.
"T.J.?" Tommy asked.
"T.J.!" Erutan exclaimed with a grin.
"Erutan!" T.J. said happily. The two hugged.
"The woods have missed you," Erutan stated. "The woods have missed you both," he continued.
"Yeah, I know," T.J. said softly. "It's kind of hard to get down here when you're fighting a space pirate," he stated.
"So, what's your excuse?" Erutan jokingly asked Tommy.
"Havin' too much fun on the circuit," Tommy admitted. Erutan shook his head with a grin. Crazy Tommy. But that was just the way he liked his friend.
"So, what are you doing here?" T.J. wondered.
"This place has been home to me. I don't want to forget it," Tommy replied.
"I know what you mean," T.J. agreed. He began to say more, but was interrupted by his communicator.
"Duty calls," Tommy chuckled with a wistful grin.
"I'm here. What's up, Alpha?" T.J. queried.
"Ai-yi-yi-yi! Astronema's sent Quantrons to Angel Grove High," Alpha 6 reported.
"On my way," T.J. promised. "Let's rocket!" he continued. He punched in a sequence, then teleported away as soon as his suit covered him.
"May the Power protect you, T.J.," Tommy stated. Then, with a longing sigh, he started through the woods and headed home.
