The Search

It was autumn and the brisk air encircled one Harry Potter as he walked through Hogsmeade. He had everything and nothing to do today, and wanted to enjoy his off day in peace.

Since the end of the war and school Harry worked at the ministry.Despite Professor Umbridge's attempts to ensure Harry never worked at the ministry Harry had made top marks and qualified for the position of Auror.

He lived in a quiet muggle section of London - something that baffled Mrs.Weasley insisting that he live closer to the Burrow and out of the city. Which, speaking of Weasleys, brings us to today.

Harry was deep in contemplation about the one Ginny Weasley, and was meeting up with Remus Lupin at the Three Broomsticks.

"Hello Remus," greeted Harry as he took the seat next to the older man.

Remus beamed, he was always happy to see Harry, and from the tone Harry had when speaking prior to him, Harry had inportant news.

"Harry, how are you doing?"

"Great, and you?," inquired Harry.

"Wonderful as well. Tonks says 'Hi', she couldn't come because Andrew and Marcus had a playdate." Remus and Tonks married shortly after the war, which was no surpise to anyone who knew them. Shortly afterward they had two twin boys- Andrew and Marcus.

"Well you probably wondering why I called you in such urgency," began Harry.Remus gave a nod to continue. " Me and Gin are getting pretty serious...,"
Harry paused, "Really serious."

Remus gave an intrigued look, "Serious Serious?"

Harry nodded, "Seriously Serious that how serious."

Remus chuckled, " I don't think we've been this seriously serious since Sirius was alive." Harry just chuckled, gone were the days of sadness everytime his name was mentioned. It was in fact Remus who had a long serious talk about Sirius after his death."Sirius would want to be remembered in laughter not sorrow," Remus reminded Harry during their discussion.

" Sirius was the only one who knew where the Potter engagement ring is held...," Harry paused, "You don't know where is it do you, Remus?," finished Harry hopefully.

Remus shook his head,"I wish I could help you, but James only told Sirius." With that he held a small pained expression on his face.Ever since Ron and Hermione had married, and even before when they were dating Harry assumed the role of third wheel understanding Remus.

"I want to marry her Remus, but I want to find that ring. It's been in the Potter family since the 1600s when Gregory Potter proposed to Aurura Sufforfold. I want to find it and continue the tradition, you know?," explained Harry. Remus nodded.

"All I can suggest Harry is to go talk to Dumbledore, and then begin retracing the steps. The last to have that ring on their hand was Lily of course. It might be a useful place to start."

And so Harry Potter began another quest while miles away a redheaded girl awoke with no idea of what was going on.
