Welcome to 'Home', another FanFic by me. This is the story I've been writing instead of Sunny Day! Well, this short-n-sweet prologue is just to introduce my main character, Sunny. Later on we'll find the Teen Titans. R&R please!

Prologue

"Luminus: a unique planet in the Gata galaxy (A/N: no such thing…I think!). Luminus orbited two suns with the names of Pulsar and Quasar. Don't ask why, because nobody had any idea how that was possible. Only 500 miles apart from each other, the two suns were about the size of Venus. Luminus was half the size of our Earth.

Luminus is--was very similar to Earth. But, there were no cold environments, probably because of the heat of the two suns. Many animals and plants were similar to those found on Earth.

The people on Luminus would probably be considered 'hippies' here on Earth, since they were all peaceful and stuff. All-natural stuff was very common there.

Everything on Luminus was perfect. At least, that was before 'It' happened.

Thirteen years ago, something went terribly wrong. The two suns Luminus orbited, Pulsar and Quasar, began to fade. Confusion swept over the planet. A month in Earth time passed and the suns were getting dimmer and dimmer. Then, in one Earth day, the suns swelled to an enormous size, threatening to swallow all of Luminus. Panic enveloped all the people and hysteria was leaking out of homes. The king/president of the planet, Rai, called for all the children to be evacuated immediately. 'They should have the chance to live.' He said.

Since I was only two at the time, my parents sent me with a guardian. Her name was Midnight. She was fifteen. I hardly remember that day that my parents left me in Midnight's arms. Tears were streaming down their faces. That's all I remember: shining tears dropping onto the hot asphalt, then evaporating silently. I didn't understand why they were crying though. I guess being two I was completely tuned out to everything.

I do remember something else though. Midnight strapped me into this big thing that I had no idea what it was. Then we started to fly. I was so happy that I was flying I didn't look back to see the disaster unfold behind me.

The ship left in a hurry and set off at a course towards Earth. It seemed like that was the only logical place to go, since it wasn't too far from Luminus. We went there hoping that the Earth people could accept us. Not soon after we took off, I heard a big bang. Then the whole ship thing started to shake. I got scared and started crying. I turned around and saw a giant red cloud spreading out into space.

Well, now, I'm alone, sitting in this warm hotel room. A week ago, there was a car crash. Midnight died. I don't know what I'm going to do without her. She taught me everything I know: how to use my powers, all about Luminus…I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I spent a lot of money to bury her in a decent cemetery. I guess I'll just have to try and survive on my own now."

Sunny shut her diary and stood up. Facing the open window, she let the Miami breeze run through her hair. "On my own…" her whisper was raspy as tears tried to escape from her eyes. Midnight was the only 'mother' Sunny had ever had. At least, the only one she could remember. And she was gone forever. But she would always be in Sunny's heart.
