Chapter 1
Note: The first couple of chapters of this story are kinda weird… But keep reading, and it'll get better, I promise!
It was an ordinary morning at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, just like any other morning. So why did Ron, as he was sleepily stretching and getting out of his unmade bed in the boys' dormitory, hear a scream coming from the bathroom?
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" screamed the scream, "I'm HAIRY!!!"
Ron jumped to his feet immediately. He dashed to the bathroom and discovered that it was only Harry, peering into the mirror with an awestruck face. "No, you're not," Ron said, sounding worried, "You're Harry!"
"NO!" Harry only faded more into his rage of disbelief as he said, "I'm HAIRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Harry turned to face Ron. "Look!" he yelled, "I think Malfoy put a spell on me during the night! That filthy –"
"Calm down, Harry!" Ron said, a hand on Harry's shoulder, trying to still him. "You'll wake the whole dormitory!" Ron studied Harry's face. It was pale, and his green eyes raged with confusion. His jet black hair messily stuck out and his scar was easily visible upon his forehead. Ron could see faint facial hairs on Harry's cheek. They were dark but hardly there, but they were.
"You're growing facial hairs, Harry! You're growing a beard!!!!!! STOP SCREAMING!!" Now Ron was screaming too.
Their screams woke Neville. "Trevor! Come back to me!..." He had been squirming and talking in his sleep over a weird dream in which Trevor the toad had been flying away on his broomstick, and Professor McGonagall was reprimanding him for losing his broom and not being able to partake in Quidditch lessons. Now some strange screams further pierced his already scarce bit of peacefulness and the possibility of getting the good night's untroubled sleep he longed for.
Neville sat straight up in bed. The screams were coming from the bathroom. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he joined the screaming fit. "SOMEONE'S SCREAMING!!!!!!"
"…Yes, they are, and I would appreciate it if they would keep it down, because I'm trying to get some sleep!" grumbled Seamus, who was now also disturbed by the chaos. Dean then woke up too. Now the entire boys' fifth year dormitory was awakened.
(See what happens when you don't have impulse control?)
Back in the bathroom, Ron had finally gotten Harry to quit screaming. "Calm down!" he said, "It's perfectly normal. Nothing to worry about."
Harry was still a little at loss. "Oh," he sighed, "well.." (Because one is normally very embarrassed when one upsets the sleep of the entire dormitory over a trivial matter. Then he said, "But I can't let anyone see me like this! I look –"
"What do you expect to do, Harry, hide in a toilet over a few hairs? Don't worry so much, no one will notice. I've seen worse, trust me."
"Uh… All right… I suppose…"
