Author's Note: Now, I know what you're thinking: 'Oh crap, someone dares mess with the majesty of Shakespeare's classic love story...' and you're pretty right with that. However, I'm not re-writing Romeo and Juliet nor am I pretending to be as great an author as he. I'm writing a hypothetical situation using a warped sense of time periods, both meshing future and past to my version of prior events of the original story. (I have to say this as much as possible) I'm putting Shakespeare's wording in modern language and telling a story that happens BEFORE R&J, about 1 year before to be exact. So sit back, relax, boo and hiss if you feel like it but this is done just for fun. So please Shakespeare fanatics, don't take me too seriously and look rather at my storyline as opposed to my faithfulness to R&J, though I will also de my best to fulfill those requirements. (read after the prologue for a short explanation of it)

Disclaimer: I'll only say this once: The characters and settings were created by William Shakespeare but have been warped and adapted to suit my story. I suggest for everyone to pick up Romeo and Juliet and any other Shakespeare play. They're worth a good read.

Prologue

Set beforeyouis the stage,

Of four young souls, their wildness rage

Who glare within the teary fates

That spins the threads of time.

These hours war has made a home

And deeper shall their angst ascend

Yet ignorance a childish whore

Doth stand their eyes, lost in pretend…

Towards nothingness their spirits soar.

Aimless, burning, forever yearning

A bird to poison, a sober limning

Till hate and love refuse to mesh

Within the fibers of life's tapestry.

Yet drawn against their very wills,

Sewn by the ancient mothers three,

Past, present and future are discerned

Only when theses curtains close

And we dismiss dramatic prose

To turn into our story.

A/N: Okay, so maybe I lied a little. I needed at least one slightly Shakespearian type of entry (although I tried not to include any: 'thou', 'thee' oranything finishing with 'th'so it still fits with the rest of the story set in modern english). This is to simply say:

That our main characters are 4 young people whom share the same raw feelings and live in a time of agitation and feud. They can't seem to see what's before them but dare to venture into things without knowing what awaits them. (I call it teenage behavior) The feud only worsens at this point and we only begin to realize that this story is a prequel to the original play as it draws nearer to its end.

And that's it! Enjoy!
