Author's Note: I was totally bored when I wrote this poetry, probably not that good but hey, it was fun! I had got around to thinking how my friends fight about who is the 'best' newsie, so I decided to write a poem. I actually used this in an English assignment and though there were no errors, my score wasn't too good since my teacher said it was 'just ok'. :: shrugs :: Well, tell me what you think! Who is your favorite newsie you love?
NEWSIES I LOVE

"Newsies" I love,
It's so fun it's so great,
The characters are fun,
Who's best we debate.
Is it Spot with his cane,
Or Jack Kelly the leader?
Kid Blink with an eye patch,
Or Racetrack the gambler?
Mush with his sweetness,
Or Skittery who's glum?
The goody-two shoes Dave,
Or Snitch sucking his thumb?
Les with his sword,
Or poor crippled Crutchy?
Boots with his… boots,
Or the only blond, Dutchy?
Snipes who steals cigars,
Or Specs with his bowler?
The curly haired Itey,
Or 'another newsie' Pie-eater?
The half-Asian Swifty,
Or Jake you suppose?
Stick-carrying Bumlets,
Or Snoddy who wipes 'is nose?
Tumbler as he slides,
Or Patrick the 'son'?
Ten-pin in 'da joint',
Have I missed anyone?
Just thinking about it
Makes me smile and sigh,
Oh, newsies, that I love,
If one would be my guy!
