A/N: Sorry about the long wait, i'm piled up to my ears in schoolwork (and i suppose laziness contributed to it). I tried to post on the 20th, but the thing wouldn't come up as updated, so i'm re-posting it.
This is a rewrite by the way, but lots of the stuff will be the same as before; i'm just adding and editing.
Happy reading!
Ch. 1- Alastor Moody
Watching him leave the train station with those imbeciles was strangely painful, and I dont think anyone, even Albus, can deny how much they care about him anymore. I know Albus blames himself for what occured in the Department of Mysteries, but in truth, everyone had a hand in this.
Every member of the Order (with the exception of that slimy ex-Death Eater) has come to care for Potter as a friend, son, brother, or some kind of relative, and as such, no one wanted to break the news to him about the Prophecy. And who would? Who wants to see the worn, dead look on his already ragged face? Who wants to be the one to tell a boy-no, a young man, that he has no choice but to be a murderer or yet another that was murdered? No one that i know, again with the possible exception of Snape, that snivelling git.
So of course Tonks, Lupin, the Weasleys, and I threatened those Dursleys. We didnt want Harry to have to deal with them on top of losing his godfather and everything else that's going on in his life now. It's vacation time, and he will have his rest, no matter how beaten up those Muggles of his get.
I remember Lily, and I know she was not at all like that sister of hers; she was nicer, for one, and didn't take to great bigots like that Dursley character. It's quite a shame that she died. She was always one to sit around and trade war stories or any old anecdote.
I remember when I showed her son the photogragh of the original Order, and how, when his parents came to the front, he looked quite strangely at me, then fled upstairs at the first opportunity. Despite all of the yelling, I doubt he is actually angry with anyone, and sometimes it's hard to tell that he's a hero. When I first met him, for example, both of us coherent and not locked in any trunk, he was so young and seemed to cling to other people, needing advice on so many things. When we got to headquarters, though, and Black all but told him the Order's secrets, he seemed mature, and quick-witted. SometimesI wonder if it's a facade, the frailty he exhibits, epecially when he does something like go after Bellatrix Lestrange with all the ferociousness of a dragon. Almost like something his godfather would do.
When Sirius Black fell through the veil, it was hard to see, but that was the moment when Remus Lupin died. He held it in, but I was a top Auror for decades, and I notice things about people; he fell apart, and other people did, too. As for me, I can't say it doesn't hurt me to see Black go,I know even Molly will miss the unique personality he brought to the Order. Aside from that, he was a faithful friend, even when everyone thought him a traitor. I will certainly miss thosedirty jokes he would tell as we betted on which students would end up together, who would gross out prim and proper 18th century women more, a dead hampster or Snape, and everything in between.
Black's death is horrible from all standpoints. I can almost taste the pain and turmoil that will be unleashed if Voldemort gets what he's after now, and without Sirius's animagius abilities or his contacts, we might not be able to find out what it is in time to stop him.
A/N: ok...so comments, questions, complaints, insults, etc. Tell me what you think and i'll give you a reward..../furtive look/ ....siriusly i will
