Chapter Six

AUTHOR NOTE – Yay chapter six is written!!! ^_________^ Life is good once again and from May 4th I'll be able to update constantly because my school year ends there. Anyhow enough about that, hope you all enjoy this chapter! I'll update as soon as I can

Silver-Sunn101 – Remmie is my fave character so it makes it easier to write him properly, I write as I think he would have been honestly, I don't see him as a physically or mentally weak character so… anyhow hope you enjoy the chapter
Sade – heehee I didn't quite manage to update the next day but I tried my best, hope you like what Lily does, she's a sneaky girl is Evans!
Washu – I can't be bothered with flamers and I don't think a cliff is good enough perhaps they can walk off the moon or something, glad you like the story anyhow

It wasn't until late morning that Remus finally awoken, his body had finally had enough and slept through his alarm clock determined to gain all it had missed back, it was a good thing it was Saturday or several lessons would have been missed. The first thing that Remus saw in his sightlines when he opened his eyes was an expensive looking picture frame sitting on his dressing table. He stared at it for a moment with a blank expression before his mind suddenly shook off the haze of sleep and came to life. He frowned as he sat up reaching over immediately and picking up the cool gold frame.
The picture was one that belonged to Sirius, that much he knew. It had been taken last Summer on a lazy Friday evening when lessons had finished, the 4 of them all looked completely relaxed and chilled out, more importantly was the fact that you could tell by a single glance how friendly the boys were with each other, the bond seemed to leap out at them, Remus had wanted the picture from the moment he saw it but Sirius had always refused, he never gave a reason why but Remus suspected that Sirius was as fond as the picture and what it suggested as he was. He placed it down and looked around his eyes falling on a piece of ripped parchment covered with large messy handwriting, he picked it up eagerly and read the familiar scrawl

I've been waiting a while to give this to you at the right moment but there never seems to be one so here's me giving up and giving it to you anyway.

Remus grinned at the handwriting and threw his duvet off him; he changed quickly skipping his usual morning shower and instead spraying on loads of deodorant to compensate. He rushed down the stairs and into the warmly decorated common room looking round keenly for the familiar figure of his best friend, his face dropped slightly when he realised Sirius was nowhere to be seen but brightened up again as he noticed Peter sitting in one of the window seats engrossed in a Herbology book
"Pete" he called walking swiftly up to the boy, Peter looked up with an annoyed distracted look that vanished when he saw it was Remus
"Hey Remmie glad to see you in the land of the living you must have been exhausted because you slept through James and Sirius having the mother of all pillow fights" Remus grinned even as he rolled his eyes
"No surprise there then" he commented lightly "I didn't realise how tired I was until I went to bed then I was out like a light." He looked around him "Any chance you've seen James and Sirius around is there? I'm surprised there not here, there not in the…" he trailed off as his eyes widened, Peter watched him for a second before he spoke blandly
"If you're about to say in the library the forget it, I don't think they'd willingly step in there if they could, no Rem they've gone on a walk, try the old oak tree by the lake or else the Quidditch pitch, you know the usual haunts" Remus nodded with a sigh, he really wanted to find Lily and crack on with his studying but he couldn't do that until he thanked Sirius for his unusually thoughtful gift. He had walked a few steps when he stopped and looked back at Peter
"Fancy coming with me?" he asked, Peter looked thoughtful for a second glancing out the window at the nice weather and shook his head
"I wish I could but I'm not like the three of you I'm going to have to study my ass off if I want to get decent grades, if you're going to the library after you find them though come and get me alright? I'll get more work done with you and Lily then by myself" Remus nodded his head
"Yeah will do, You'll see me shortly anyway because I have to get my books from the dorm" Peter nodded and smiled brightly
"Cool see you soon then" Remus nodded his head and left the common room quickly making his way out of the old school building only nodding at people he knew instead of chatting. He ran lightly across the newly cut grass to the Quidditch pitch but neither black haired boy was there, with a curse Remus turned and ran to the old oak tree where the Marauder's often sat in summer enjoying the breeze and watching first years fall in the lake. Sure enough James and Sirius were sitting there talking. As he ran up they ceased the conversation and instead looked up grinning at him
"You Running Moony?" James commented raising an eyebrow at him "Wonders never cease to happen, anyone dead or something?" Remus shot him a quick look as he shook his head and collapsed happily at their feet lying on his back and staring at the blue sky as he recovered his breath "You shouldn't run you know Remus you're so out of shape" Remus laughed
"I'm fitter then you Potter and don't forget it, you didn't just sprint from the Common room to the Quidditch pitch and straight to here did you, if you did then you'd be dead on the floor now trying to breath" Sirius laughed as James poked his tongue out at him
"You should both have a race and see you know" Sirius commented looking between the two faces with a grin
"Naw" Remus said stretching contentedly "I'd kick James's butt and then he'd end up sulking for the rest of the week" James looked outraged for a second
"I so would not" he replied, Sirius ignored him as he spoke
"Why are you here Rem?" he asked "I would have thought you'd be studying in the library with Lily" Remus sat up
"I am meant to be" he admitted looking at the taller boy "But I've just woken up and I saw the gift you got me and I had to find you to say thank you" Sirius shrugged and looked away from the eyes pinned on him
"It was nothing" he replied finally, James raised an eyebrow
"What gift was this?" he asked, Remus turned to him casually brushing his long fringe out of his eyes
"You know that picture he has of the four of us that I absolutely love?" he questioned, James looked thoughtful for a second tapping his lip with his finger
"The one taken here last summer?" he asked and Remus nodded
"That's the one," he confirmed "Sirius gave it to me and he even got me a gold frame to put it in" James looked impressed and nodded
"Nice" he remarked smiling brightly at Sirius "Good job" he commented, Remus looked confused for a second
"Good job?" he repeated, James nodded
"Yeah you know good job for getting you something you like, you're not an easy person to get something for" Remus grinned
"Give me a book or some music and I'm in heaven Baby" he commented. James went to reply when another voice was heard carrying over to them on the fresh air
"Remus" all three of them looked over to see Lily making her way over to them all, Peter walking with her his nose still in his textbook, Lily was holding a satchel full of books and a basket in one hand
"Lily" Remus called back waving an arm at her as he smiled "Sorry about earlier on and all I just overslept big style" Lily smiled as she finally came up to them, she remained standing while Peter dropped to the floor sitting crossed legged and muttering plant names to himself
"Don't worry about it," she said cheerfully before glaring at James and Sirius, James glared back but Sirius with Remus's eyes on him managed a force smile
"Hello Lily" he remarked, Lily glared at him
"Black" she remarked coolly before turning back to Remus her previously warm smile returning "I overslept myself" she admitted "Quite bad but I was more tired then I thought, I had the idea that we could study out here today since it's so nice and cause it's near lunchtime and we need to crack on big style I got us some lunch from the kitchen" she patted the basket "They even put some chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecake in there as well as all our favourite" Remus's eyes began to glitter
"Lunch" he remarked "Strawberry cheesecake?" she nodded
"I know it's your absolute fave desert so I asked them if they had any and they made some completely fresh it's all fluffy looking and absolutely gorgeous" Remus looked like he was in heaven
"That's so nice of you Lily you're such a superstar" he remarked beaming at her "I invited Peter to study with us" he began and she nodded sparing a smile for the wrapped up boy
"I know I met him in the common room and he told me, he can join us if he wants" she smiled at Peter who raised a thumb at her never taking his eyes off the book "If I had known you were with James and Sirius then I would have brought some more but…" she stopped and gave a helpless shrug eyelashes covering triumphant looking green eyes
"Well we need to study" Remus said running a hand through his hair he turned to James and Sirius with a guilty expression, for an instant James glared at him before he sighed
"Come on Siri mate it just means there's more for us to eat at the Gryffindor table" he remarked with fake cheerfulness, Sirius nodded clambering to him feet before giving Remus a sad smile
"See you later ok Remus?" he asked, Remus nodded instantly
"Of course" he replied "And thank you so much for the picture Siri it's great" Sirius face brightened for a second as he turned and walked away both of them ignoring the happy chatter that erupted from Lily as they left, neither of them seeing sad Amber eyes watch them leave.
A/N – Woohoo another chapter happily finished, so Lily was really sweet and got him a gorgeous lunch with his fave desert. See really thoughtful and Remus appreciates that but Sirius got him the frame with the picture he's wanted ages. Well you decide peeps who wins round one, every time each of them does something you the reviewer has to decide who wins the round. Heehee please review but no flames here please.
