Recap Chapter 2- Phoebe's back in NYC for a few days to see Cole, and she's getting ready to go see him at his office. What could go wrong?

~*~*~

Thank you to everyone who reviewed because without it, I wouldn't even be this far with this story. But you guys are the best, so I'm writing it for you. At anytime, feel free to stop me if it gets boring.

By the time she reached Cole's office, he was out to lunch with his father and some company men. She felt so out of place because every guy was staring at her for some ungodly known reason. And the receptionist was being a real pain, too!

"Hello, lady?!" Phoebe exclaimed a bit irritated by her manner. She was on the phone talking and paying no attention to whatever was going on. "LADY?!" Phoebe almost screamed. She was loosing her temper. "Yeah, just a second," She said rolling her eyes. The lady started to talk on the phone again. Phoebe had it, and pressed for the dial tone on the phone.

The lady looked surprised and hung up the phone. "Hi, how may I help you?" The lady asked dryly. "Do you know when Cole Turner will be back from lunch?" Phoebe asked. "Do I look like his mother?" She questioned. "No, she's prettier than you are anyways," Phoebe stated. Phoebe turned around and mumbled, "Ugly bitch."

"Phoebe?!" Cole's voice came from behind her. Phoebe turned around and smiled. He walked up to her and embraced her. "Oh, my god, Phoebe! When did you get here?" Cole asked excited. "Just this morning around dawn," Phoebe answered. Cole kissed her lips and whispered a tender 'I love you' in her ear. Phoebe felt really pleased to hear that. It made her feel like she was floating on air.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and guided her to the elevator. "Where are we going?" Phoebe asked. "To my office," Cole stated. "Oh, right," Phoebe said feeling silly. "I'm not going to bite you," Cole said ushering her into the elevator. "You bite me all the time," Phoebe said. "That is because I love you," Cole said.

Phoebe gave him a doubtful look and said, "You would've called me if you really did." "Baby, I'm sorry. I've been busy and every time I pick up the phone, something else comes up. It's not because I don't love you that I don't want to talk to you," Cole explained. Phoebe didn't say anything. "Where you stay this morning when you got off the plane?" Cole asked. "My dad's house. Where else would I stay, Cole? The streets?" Phoebe asked stepping out of the elevator with him.

Cole ignored her annoyed remark; he was just concerned for her. "Welcome to my office!" Cole stated opening the glass doors to his pretty big office that had a great view of the city skyscrapers.

"Wow, it's pretty big. But it's so beautiful, like your own personal room," Phoebe stated. "I spend most of my time here, anyways. So, I thought I might as well make it comfortable," Cole said. "Look at you, a businessman. Is your father still bugging you about taking over the banks and stuff?" Phoebe asked fixing his tie. "Here and there, but not as much anymore. He's finally understood how important this is to me," Cole stated.

There was a pause in the room until Cole changed the subject. "You look good, baby. Been working out?" Cole asked pulling her closer to him. "No," Phoebe answered flatly. "Most women must envy you," Cole said leaning closer to her. "Why is that, Cole?" Phoebe asked. "Because you are completely and utterly beautiful without trying," Cole said planting a soft kiss on her lips.

Suddenly, the office telephone rang interrupting them. Phoebe sighed and pulled away. Cole pressed the speakerphone button. "Talk to me," Cole said as Phoebe went through some stuff on his desk. "Hey, Williams and Trade (company) are here in the conference room. They mean business. So, I suggest you get down here as soon as you can. Better yet, now!" His partner said in urgency. "Okay, thanks for telling me," Cole said hanging up.

Phoebe held up her centerfold photo in the 415 magazine spread that she did. It was a rather sexy photo of her. "Did you enjoy this, Cole?" Phoebe asked smiling in a rather teasing way. Cole kind of felt embarrassed by it, but she was almost his wife now and there was nothing to hide.

"Do you even have to ask? You know I did. But right now, I got to go. How about we finish this conversation over dinner?" Cole asked. Phoebe nodded. "Great! I'll pick you up at your father's house around 7," Cole stated. "Can you show yourself out, okay?" Cole asked. "Yeah," Phoebe said. "I love you," Cole said kissing her cheek and walking out the office door.

He didn't even wait for her to say 'I love you' back. Well, at least she had something to look forward to tonight and she'll say it then just to let him know.

Victor's Mansion:

Phoebe was getting ready to go to dinner with Cole, and she was fixing her hair in the mirror. She had on a cute little white dress, and a diamond necklace. Phoebe looked at herself in the mirror realizing for the first time that she wasn't a rebellious young girl anymore. She matured and grown up because that's exactly how she feels.

Being with Cole changed her for the better, and she wouldn't want it any other way. It's just different living in an apartment, and then being ushered from mansion to mansion. She's still trying to get used to it, but all she wants is a normal home. And that would be the manor. As normal as the manor gets anyways.

She just never understood how Cole and her came together. They were so different as if they came from two totally different planets. He's this rich guy, and she's this rebellious girl. How was that ever going to work? But so far, it is and it's amazing!

"You look beautiful," Her father's voice came from behind her. Phoebe turned around and smiled. "Just like your mother when she was your age," Victor stated entering the room. "Really?" Phoebe asked. "Absolutely. Your mother was radiant; full of light. Nothing could rain on her parade. The same with you," Victor said. Phoebe smiled again. She felt so cheerful that night for some reason.

"Are you going out with Cole?" Victor asked. "Yes, father. Do you want his cell phone number, too?" Phoebe asked sarcastically. "What is it?" Victor went along with her sarcasm. "Dad!" Phoebe exclaimed. "Have you two youngsters talked about the wedding arrangements yet?" Victor asked. "No, we haven't really gotten around to it. We've been too busy to even look at anything that has to do with weddings," Phoebe stated. "Watch your time," Victor warned. Phoebe nodded.

A silent pause filled the room. "Well, have a good time tonight, sweetie" Victor said. "Thanks, dad. Have a good night and don't wait up for me," Phoebe said hugging him and went downstairs.

Lira caught Phoebe at the bottom of the stairs. "Mr. Turner is waiting in the living room," She announced. "Thank you, Lira. Have a good night," Phoebe said. "You too, Miss. Halliwell," Lira said smiling. Phoebe made her way into the living room.

There Cole was wearing a nice pair of slacks, and a button up shirt that was never fully button all the way. He looked really sexy that way. She liked how he doesn't always dress up in a suit and tie.

"Cole," Phoebe called getting his attention. "Phoebe, hi," Cole greeted standing up from the couch. His figure was to die for; he was really muscular and it showed even in somewhat loose clothing. Phoebe pulled him into a flaming kiss because she really missed him lately. It went on for about 15 seconds, and Cole was hooked until...

Phoebe pulled away and said, "I'm sorry for making you wait. My father..." "Don't worry about it," Cole said leaning down for another kiss. Phoebe slightly turned and said, "We should get going, Cole. We don't want to lose our dinner reservations." Cole nodded and guided her out to the car.

They were going to have dinner at an Italian restaurant. As Phoebe walked in she was already irritated because it was so formal. All she wanted was to relax with Cole, but it was his choice. They were seated at a special table for two with candlelight and rose petals.

"Aw..." Phoebe said sitting down. "Do you like it?" Cole asked. "I love it. You're so romantic, Cole. I love you," Phoebe said amorously. "I love you, too," Cole said looking at the wine menu.

The waiter was eyeing Phoebe as he waited for Cole to make his selection, and Cole realized that. Cole pretended to clear his throat. "Baby, are you okay?" Phoebe asked turning her attention to him. "Yeah, I'm fine. Can we get a bottle of Cristal?" Cole asked handing the wine menu to the waiter. "Yes, sir," He stated walking away.

Dinner carried on with like every other dinner they would have at home. As they ate, they talked about wedding plans.

"Baby, I'm worried that we don't have time to take care of all that. I mean, it seems like a lot," Phoebe stated. "It does, and with our busy lives...It could be another year before we actually get married. So, I've been meaning to ask you about a wedding planner," Cole said. Phoebe looked at him. "What do you think?" Cole asked. "I think it would help a lot," Phoebe answered.

Cole took a sip of the expensive champagne and asked, "What do you want to do after this?" "Go home, relax. I can't remember the last time I relaxed," Phoebe said drinking from her wine glass. "Relaxing, sounds good. It definitely works for me," Cole said.

As their dessert came out which was an Italian ice cream, some strange man walks up to their table. Phoebe didn't recognize him at first, but it soon came flooding back to her. She knew him when she was working at Club Peppermint, he was pretty much a regular there. 'Please go away!' Phoebe thought silently. She really didn't want this guy to piss Cole off. He's not ashamed of her past; he just hates it when guys from the club come over when they're trying to have a decent dinner.

"Fever? Is that you? I've been looking for you at every club around here!" He stated rather loudly. People turned and started to stare. Phoebe wasn't surprised if he was drunk, because he always is. "Excuse me, we're trying to have dinner," Cole stated rather serenely. "Let me just get her number," He said grabbing a pen. Cole really lost his patience there.

He stood up and said, "I think it's time for you to leave." They were staring at each other rather sternly. All of a sudden, Cole grabbed him by his shirt and bellowed, "NOW!"

"All right, calm down," The guy stated as Cole let him go. He fixed his tie, and straightened out his outfit. He walked away winking at Phoebe. Cole sat back down rather uneasily. "Excuse me. I have to go to the restroom," Phoebe said rather quickly. She dashed off avoiding Cole's eyes. She felt immensely humiliated in front of Cole; she could die.

Phoebe believed that whatever she does, she'll always be looked down on. All because of a past she led, but it was all over. Why can't people see that? Cole must be so angry with her right now. He probably thinks she is a slut, anyhow. She turned on some cold water to wash her face when the door opened.

That same man walked into the bathroom looking at her. Phoebe didn't even remember his name, just his face because she hated him. Everything was about money to him, and it probably still is. How did he know she was here? He must have followed her into the restroom. Phoebe froze, scared of what he might do.

"Hi, Fever," He said approaching her. "Stop calling me that. What do you want?" Phoebe asked backing up to the edge of the sink but he didn't let up. "What are you doing with that pretty boy? You used to be so wild, remember?" He asked caressing her cheek and grabbing her butt.

Phoebe pushed him away from her, and tried to get to the door. He grabs her and pushes her back against the sink brutally. Phoebe groaned from the pain, but she was still struggling against his strength. He smacked her hard across the face, and Phoebe was stunned for awhile. No man ever laid a hand on her violently. She felt the taste of blood on her tongue, and it was seeping threw the corner of her mouth.

Meanwhile, Cole approached the women's bathroom, because he was wondering why she was taking so long. There could have been a million reasons why. He just had a bad feeling inside the pit of his stomach.

"You don't like this anymore? Huh?!" He asked feeling her up as Phoebe struggled against him hopelessly. "No! Let me go! Stop!" Phoebe cried out loud as Cole heard from outside the bathroom door. He burst through the bathroom door. His blood boiled when he saw the struggle between the two.

Phoebe looked up at Cole whose eyes were wide open with anger. "Fuckin' bastard!" Cole yelled charging at the guy punching his jaw, and knocking him down to the ground. Cole threw another punch at his nose making it bleed uncontrollably. He got up from the ground, and grabbed Phoebe's wrist pulling her out of the bathroom. Cole slammed money on the table, and walked out of the restaurant.

They guy got up from the floor wiping blood off his nose as a lady walks in and screams. "Shut your yap, lady!" He hollered walking out. She moved to the side disgusted.

By the time Phoebe made it outside, she couldn't hold her food down. She felt sick to her stomach that someone else's hands were on her on an intimate level. Phoebe threw up everything she ate as Cole held her hair back. She wondered how she ever got through giving different guys lap dances each night. It was what she did, but now it made her sick to her stomach.

The car was really quiet. Phoebe was cleaning the dried up blood from her mouth, but tears were running down her cheek one-by-one. She didn't want a bruised jaw because she'll never be able to explain it to anyone. Mostly, she was wondering of what Cole was thinking. He was holding the steering wheel till his knuckles turned all white. She was afraid.

Cole pulled up to his father's mansion and turned to Phoebe. "Did you want to stay here or go home to your father?" Cole asked softly. "Do you want me to go?" Phoebe asked as a tear fell from her cheek. "No..." Cole said wiping the tear from her cheek. He took her inside, and found that his father was already asleep. Cole led her upstairs to his room and locked the door.

"I'm sorry," Phoebe said breaking the eerie silence. "It wasn't your fault. Don't think it was your fault," Cole said taking off his dress shirt. "You must think I'm such a whore, don't you?" Phoebe asked. "No! No, I don't think you're a whore," Cole stated firmly.

Phoebe opened her mouth to say something else. "Stop. I won't let you torture yourself. I'm not ashamed of your past, Phoebe. It bothers me that these guys think they own you just cause you gave them a lap dance. God!" Cole shouted pissed off. "But they don't," Phoebe protested. "I know, baby. I'm sorry, I should have handled the situation more maturely," Cole apologized.

"It's okay," Phoebe said. "I'm sorry if I scared you in there," Cole stated. "It's okay, I'm okay," Phoebe lied. Her jaw still hurts, and Cole was looking at it. "No, you're not. Look at this bruise...I have no idea why you would be crazy enough to marry me," Cole said. "I'm crazy in love," Phoebe said.

"I'm sorry," Cole apologized again caressing her cheeks. "I should've broken his neck, I swear!" Cole exclaimed. "Baby, don't swear. It's over with," Phoebe said. Cole nodded in agreement. "We should go to bed," Phoebe insisted.

They were lying in bed, cuddling with each other. "I missed you so much, Phoebe," Cole said running his hands down the length of her leg. "I'm right here," Phoebe said touching his broad shoulders. "I mean, I really missed you," Cole emphasized leaning over her. He was inches from her lips, and Phoebe finally understood what he meant.

"Oh, baby, I'm really tired. Maybe another time," Phoebe said. Cole wouldn't let up. Instead, he proceeded to pull the straps of her tank down. "Stop it. Cole..." Phoebe said warningly. Cole looked straight into her eyes with a passion that burned within, and Phoebe clearly saw it. He leaned down and gave her a sensual kiss that she could never say no to.

Cole pulled away from her slowly and said in a mere whisper, "I want to make love to you." Phoebe pulled her cotton tank over her head acknowledging him. It has been too long...
