Ryou couldn't believe this. His yami, his yami, the one who had strived long and hard to become good again, who had the agonizing experience with the pharaoh banishing his evil side, was now threatening him with a knife. He never threatened Ryou with violence, contrary to popular beliefs. He instead, played mind games. Mind games that drove you insane.
"Bakura?" cautioned Ryou. His yami nowadays was unpredictable as ever and it was good to be cautious around him, especially since he had a sharp, pointy knife in his position. "Bakura, what are you doing!?"
Bakura smiled a bitter, grim, and an I've seen too much smile. He said "Ryou, its time for you to make a choice, either your life or your friends." He smiled, or rather, grimaced again and waved over where Yugi, Anzu, Jounouchi, Honda, Seto, Mokuba, Duke, Serenity, and Yami lay there, unconscious.
Now this was unsuspected. Ryou thought Bakura had changed.
"Bakura!" he pleaded. "Why are you doing this?"
Bakura's became sober. "Because", he said. Then he started crying. "Ryou, I haven't the strength you have to go on with life. I need my family. My soul died along with my family in Kuru Eruna (or Kuruelna). Please Ryou, just end it. But I need your affirmation to complete this. Otherwise my soul will be wandering the shadow realm for eternity. Please, Ryou. Just end it."
Ryou was shocked. Risk his friends and life a life of guilt? Or die prematurely and see mother and Amane (his sister) again. It wasn't a tough decision.
Ryou smiled as he walked over to Bakura.
"I've decided." He said and smiled, causing Bakura to smiled as well.
"Alright."
They joined hands and closed their eyes. Next, Bakura stared an ancient chant.
Yami and Yugi woke up just as they finished. "No, Bakura! There must be another way!" Yami shouted, however, this was in vain. Both Ryou and Bakura glowed brightly and then they were no more, while the sennen (millennium) ring lay were they once stood.
"No." whispered yugi, with tears in his eyes. "Don't worry little one, there in a better place now." Consoled his yami.
They moved to the window and saw, with surprise, two new stars, that seemed the wink at them.
"Yes", agreed Yugi. "There in a better place now."
