- Fighting for the Sky -

The Sun and Moon clash.

Can you hear it?

Each blow creates electricity.

Can you see it?

The fire in their eyes strengthens their hearts.

Can you feel it?

The fireworks of their strikes;

- BOOM! -

The static of their energy;

- CRACKLE!! -

The burning of their hatred;

- HISS!!! -

Left. Right. Jump. Dodge.

Back where they began,

neither higher than they started.

Depressing their sprits;

elevating their rage.

The Sun wields a blinding smile,

it's gravity and charm attract all.

Coveting for recognition,

it forever burns a glaring gold,

hoping to catch the eyes of the young and old.

The Moon holds a serene calm stance.

Alabaster skin seemingly out of place on the black canopy,

hanging coldly in the sky while the Sun continues to dance.

Charcoal eyes stare at that everlasting smile,

then back to the earth with a scowl.

Left. Right. Jump.

...Dodge?

A missing beat in the rising crescendo of pounding feet.

The Moon sees the opening,

and swiftly assures the Sun's defeat.

One strike.

Then,

- THUMP. -

The Sun falls.

An eclipse.

SMALLER,

SMallER,

smaller,

The bright smile quivers,

wanes,

and evanesces.

...Until the Moon's frown

has impeded the sky.

But the Sun will

not.

StaY.

DOWN.

A sudden

- BASH! -,

a surprised look,

a flick of hair like black ash,

and a quick scurry of feet.

The Sun flashes the Moon another taunting grin.

A narrowing of eyes and a scowl in return is given.

Each vying to win,

they return to their endless fight.

Eternal rivals;

fighting for the sky.

And

the Moon...

smiles.

"Oy! What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

"Just reading some of your 'poetry'", said Sasuke, doing mid-air quotation marks.

In his hands was a small orange (what other color, he thought) notebook, in which said poetry was in.

"Hey! I-it's an assignment Iruka-Sensei gave me…" replied Naruto huffily, "To get my emotions out… Or whatever…"

"Oh?" Sasuke taunted, "and did he tell you to make it as crappy as possible?"

"Shut the hell up bastard! Likeyou can write poetry better?" he replied.

"'Che! Listen;

There once was a boy named Naruto,

He sucked at poetry.

Much like he sucks at everything else."

"That didn't even rhyme!" And not giving Sasuke time to reply, Naruto said, "Anyways, I'm assuming you came here to spar, right?"

Naruto looked at Sasuke, whose faceclearly said 'what do you think?'

Naruto sighed and said, "C'mon…"

They step into the forest training grounds a few minutes later, where they proceeded to… y'know… fight.

And so, many battered limbs later, they took a time out.

"Heh… Sasuke-bastard… I'm going to beat you… after… my heart… starts beating again…" says Naruto, or rather, wheezed out.

"Only you… would get this tired from just a simple spar…" replied Sasuke, even though he was equally as tired. He's just better at hiding it. "And like hell you would ever beat me…"

"Heh… let's… see!"

And with that, they continue to fight, even though both are on the verge of death.

And

Sasuke…

smiles.
