After the defeat of Vegnagun, the impregnable machina of destruction and chaos, Yuna, Rikku and Paine were resting in Besaid Island, a month after the defeat.
"What can we do to raise our hopes? People are still unsure of the defeat of Vegnagun and we need something to enlighten us!" Yuna said desperately.
"How about we prepare a dance in Luca? We can invite lots of people, invite a partner and have lots of fun!" Rikku asked the two bored ones.
"Perfect!" Yuna exclaimed happily.
"What about you Paine?" Rikku asked.
"I don't have the spirit to dance, nor would I be able to find a partner; nobody I know of would be strict enough." Paine replied.
"Okay then, I'll go and invite as many people as possible, Yuna, you go and book the Luca Singing Stage, and Paine, you go off and start attracting those hunky guys!" Rikku saidexcitedly.
Within five minutes, Rikku had invited Lenne, Baralai, Gippal, Shuyin, Leblanc, Ormi, Logos, Brother, Buddy and many other people by CommSphere. Yuna had booked Luca's Singing Stage to be transformed into a dancing place, and Paine had gone off to find a date. Yuna and Rikku shortly after departed and went to find dates.
"Gippal seems nice enough...Baralai is quite cute...But Shuyin! I think I'll ask him!" Yuna thought.
Yuna went off to see Shuyin, who was currently residing in a house neighbouring Yuna. Yuna walked in. The place was filled with magical books and ancient weapons. The place had a magical feel to it, as though she was safe and protected intensely. She noticed Shuyin and Lenne holding hands with both people with happy smiles on their faces, gazing into each others eyes.
"Uh, Shuyin?" Yuna asked.
"Oh, Yuna. What brings you here?" Shuyin said, looking at Yuna.
"I was wondering if you would want to be my date for the Songstress Dance. So do you want to?" Yuna asked.
"Well, uh, I'm going with Lenne." Shuyin replied, looking once more into Lenne's eyes.
Yuna for some reason felt an immense envy and anger towards Lenne. "Sure, Shuyin was the person going with Lenne, but if she hadn't defeated Vegnagun along with Rikku and Paine...they both would not be here..."
Yuna ran out of Shuyin's house and ran towards the nearest CommSphere. She touched it and was magically teleported to the Celsius. She walked into the place where Brother, Buddy and Shinra were talking to each other. The three of them looked up at Yuna.
"When we have anything to do with Lenne as a team, remind me to kick her right in the - "
"What's going on?" Buddy asked.
"I asked Shuyin to the dance, but he's already going with Lenne!" Yuna said, a tear falling down her cheek.
"Yuna, would you like to - "
"Hey Yuna, want to go to the dance with me?" a voice behind Yuna said.
It was Gippal, who looked handsome in his new outfit which did honestly look attractive.
"Yes!" Yuna said, turning around and jumping in the air as though she had just eliminated Lenne.
"But I was gonna ask you! A few more seconds and you would've been mine!" Brother whined.
"Well, I'll see you at the Songstress Dance!" Yuna said happily, running to the cabin to sleep until tonight's Songstress Dance.
