Authoress' Notes: Not including the title, my name, and the author's notes and the disclaimer… this thing is exactly 400 words long! Weee! Just a short, simple, SatRisa drabble. I dunno. I like SatRisa. For some odd, strange, (and maybe twisted and sick) reason, they remind me of Tomoyo and Eriol from CardCap Sakura. I wonder why…

Plane
By

The plane was cold and empty.
…How extremely uninteresting.
Of course, this was his perception. To others, the plane was cold, yes—but empty? No. On contraire, it was filled with people chatting animatedly, each with their own reasons to be jumpy and excited—they were going to Europe, after all.
Hikari Satoshi felt no such emotion as he sat idly on his seat, beside the window. Behind his spectacles, ocean pools observed the world outside him, passing by ant-shaped figures below.
A stewardess approached him, a kind smile on her face.
"May I get you anything, sir?"
It took a brief moment before he looked up at her, yet his gaze still seemed far and distant. "I'm fine."
The stewardess left him with a polite bow, and went to assist the next person at the seat in front of him.
As Satoshi stared back at the open world outside, he silently wished that he was back at his apartment, staying up at who-knows-what time in the morning, researching about various crimes in front of his laptop.
A sigh.
And again, what an extremely dull trip this would be.
Despite his usually keen senses, he failed to notice the chair beside him gain some weight. There was an exasperated sigh, then,
"Mou! I wish Riku hadn't screwed up those seat numbers!"
Such words caught his attention, and he hated to admit it—but his heart leaped. With joy, perhaps? Or just with simple relief?
Slowly, he turned to his side, only to see a shade of perfect brown eyes already gaping at him.
"H-Hiwatari-kun?!" There was a stifled gasp, "I didn't know that was you!" The surprise in her eyes was as clear as crystal—but when the shock subsided, he felt warm under her sunny smile. "Wow! I'm so lucky that Riku switched up those numbers, then! I never expected to see you!"
He shrugged nonchalantly, feigning indifference. He tried to ignore her, but when he rested his head on the pillow at his backrest, he couldn't help but break out a smile.
It was uncharacteristic of him, and he knew that—but still…
Harada Risa noticed her old friend's sudden grin. She raised a dainty eyebrow. "What's so funny, Hiwatari-kun?"
The smile suddenly disappeared.
"Nothing."
She looked confused, and he oddly felt pleasure in that.
"…This trip isn't going to be as boring as I thought, that's all."

Authoress' Notes: And that is where the corniness ends. Where did you get this, Aya? No one really knows… oh well. Tee hee! Smile, Jesus loves you!
