Simba has stepped down as king, and Kovu and Kiara now ruled Pride Rock. Soon, two new little cubs are added to the family, but when the rumor that Zera is back spreads like wildfire, Pride Rock must face the most difficult challenge it has ever faced. PL

Disclaimer- I have written this fanfiction all by myself. I am going to use a song from the original movies though, and change the words a bit. I also have some ideas that may be similar to some of yours, but I am not copying, they are my ideas.

Chapter 1- Simba Steps Down

"Queen Nala, I-"

"Kovu, I told you, call me Mom. It's much easier. Besides, after today, you will be King, and Kiara will be Queen. There will be no need to call me Queen." Nala said.

"Ok…..Mom, do you know where Kiara is? The ceremony starts in 15 minutes!" Kovu exclaimed.

"Oh my! Where is she? SIMBA!" Nala called to Simba.

"Yes dear?" Simba asked.

"Where is our daughter?" Nala questioned.

"We can answer that. For once, we know where princess-uh, I mean Queen- Kiara is. She's in the den, getting ready for the ceremony." Timon answered, walking up.

"Yes M'am she is. I saw her!" Pumba added proudly.

"Why don't you have a talk with her, Nala? Besides, I would like to talk to Kovu before he is crowned King of Pride Rock." Simba suggested.

"Yes, dear." Nala agreed. She nuzzled Simba then walked away to the den.

As Simba and Kovu walked to the top of Pride Rock, Simba began his talk with Kovu.

"Kovu, you're going to be crowned King, and I would like to give you a little bit of advice before this happens. Look out there. Everything the light touches is very soon to be your domain. If you ever need help ruling this vast pride, I want you to know I will always be here to help you. Even I am not physically here, I will be here." Simba advised wisely, pointing to Kovu's heart. "Soon I will be joining my father, Mufasa, in the stars above. I want you to be able to join us when you pass. I know you will be a wise and great king, Kovu."

Just then, Kiara and Nala came up to the two consulting lions.

"Kovu, are you ready?" Kiara asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be." He replied.

The two couples turned around and walked to the front of the lion's den. And the ceremony began.

All the animals of Pride Rock gathered below.

Simba and Nala walked to the very edge of Pride Rock, followed by Kiara and Kovu.

Then Simba gave a loud roar.

Kovu then gave a loud roar.

Nala then roared.

And finally, the new Queen, Kiara roared.

About two seconds later, they all roared as loud as possible, which made an echoing sound for a long time afterwards.

Rafikki came up and sprinkled some powder on Kiara and Kovu.

"Your new King and Queen!!!!!" Rafikki screeched loudly.

The animals of Pride Rock went crazy, while Simba and Nala beamed, and Kiara and Kovu smiled down at their land.
