Author's Note: This is the continuation of my other story, Hallway Etiquette.
Question: Does anyone know how to get symbols (like shift8) to work.? I couldn't, so I had to write LATER instead of a symbol break.
Technical Note: I don't think the number code I used (315) is a real one. The only one I've ever heard used is 419. But if it is a real one and it means something I'm sorry.
Disclaimer: I don't own the show, I'm making no money, etc., etc., etc.....
Greg sat with his chin propped on his fist, absentmindedly doodling on a piece of paper. Warrick walked into the lab with a bag of samples.
"You're not thinking, are you," he asked, setting the evidence on a table.
"I was jus-" started Greg.
"You were, weren't you?"
"Maybe."
"I'd better alert everyone." Warrick leaned out into the hall. "Yo, Nick. We've got a 315."
"A what?" asked Nick, changing direction and heading for the lab.
"A 315. It means that Greggo's been thinking." The two men burst into laughter.
"That's not funny," whined Greg, crossing his arms. "I don't make fun of you for no reason!"
"Actually we had a reason," Warrick reminded him. Greg glared at him.
"What's this?" asked Nick grabbing the piece of paper that Greg had been drawing on.
"Oh, nothing." Greg reached for the paper. Nick handed it to Warrick.
"'Greg's Plan To Get Sara And Grissom Together'," read Warrick. Nick sniggered.
Warrick continued.
"'Step One: Ask Nick and Warrick for help implementing 'THE PLAN'. Step Two: When they agree, tell them 'THE PLAN'. Step Three: Pick up bread on the way home from work.'"
"What's the bread for?" asked Nick.
"Toast, sandwiches." Greg shrugged. "I'm out."
"Right."
"So what's this great plan of yours," interrupted Warrick. He was genuinely curious.
"I can't tell you." Greg reached for the samples he had brought in earlier.
"Why not?"
Greg sighed. "I have to follow the steps," he said explained slowly, as if to a young child. "See?" he pointed to the list. "It says: Step Two: When they agree, tell them the plan."
"Well, if you're following the steps, shouldn't you ask us for help first?" Nick pointed out.
"Fine." Greg spun his chair around to face the other CSI's. "Will you guys help me with 'THE PLAN'?" Nick and Warrick looked at each other.
"What do you think?" asked Nick,
"I say we help him," said Warrick. "There's no way he could get those two together on his own, anyways."
"That's why I'm asking you for help."
"Yeah, yeah. Get on with it, already." said Nick, grabbing a chair and pulling it over to the table.
"Alright," said Greg in a stage whisper, "but this is top secret. If I find out you told anyone..." He grinned. "Let's just say I would bring my own coffee to work if I were you."
LATER
"What are you three up to?" asked Catherine, coming into the lab.
"Nothing." They all tried to look innocent. Greg shuffled some papers. Warrick poured himself a cup of coffee. Nick stared at the ceiling.
"Right." Catherine decided not to ask. "I need you to run a DNA analysis on this blood for me, Greg." She handed him a container.
"Sure thing." Catherine turned to leave.
"Hey Cath, have you seen Sara and Griss?" Warrick called after her.
"They're out in the field. Why?" She turned around.
"No reason." The innocent looks again.
Catherine shook her head. Walking down the hall, she contemplated warning Sara and Grissom. She imagined what the boys might have planned for them. They won't know what hit them. She smiled and continued on her way.
