Chapter Seven
Passionate Morning
The next morning, Miranda woke up in her bed to the sounds of Matt strumming his guitar. Miranda smiled, thinking how cute her new boyfriend was, especially when it was unintentional. He looked over at Miranda, and was surprised to find her awake and looking at him. He blushed, "Sorry. I didn't know you were awake."
"It's okay," Miranda said, getting up and sitting on his bed to watch him more closely, "Are Lizzie and Gordo awake?"
Matt nodded his head, "Yeah. Why?"
"'Because," Miranda said, "I was wondering how you got your guitar from that room."
"Oh," Matt said, nodding his head, "Yeah, Gordo poked his head in and asked me to breakfast."
Miranda smiled, "It was nice of you to wait for me."
"Oh, always, Miranda," he said, strumming his guitar, "I'll always wait for you."
Miranda smiled, and then she thought of something. She knew that Matt at one point dated Melina and they broke up the past summer, but he didn't really know why, "Matt," she said, trying to think of how to approach this, "May I ask you a personal question?"
Matt shrugged, "Sure, babe. My life is an open book. What do you want to know?"
"Well," Miranda said, looking down, "Why did you and Melina break up?"
Matt stopped strumming his guitar and looked up. Whatever he was expecting, he wasn't expecting that, "Are you sure you want to know that?" Matt swallowed.
Miranda nodded her head, "Yeah, of course I do."
Matt laughed nervously, "But you have all of this week to hear it."
"I know," Miranda said, "And I hope I have the rest of my life, but I don't want to know then. I want to know now."
"Okay, I give," Matt said, "But you owe me."
Miranda smirked, "Oh, I'll pay you back as soon as possible."
"Is that a promise?" Matt said, lightening up.
"Yeah," Miranda said, "and believe me, you won't be disappointed."
Matt swallowed, "Heh. What were we talking about again?"
"You and Melina," Miranda said, leaning in closer to Matt and resting her head on his shoulder.
"Oh yeah," Matt said, wishing she didn't remind him, "Well, the short version is that we were wrong for each other and the break up was mutual."
He hoped that she would accept that as an answer, because this topic made him feel uneasy.
"Is that so?" Miranda said, raising an eye brow.
"Yep," Matt said.
"No, I think not," Miranda sang into his ears.
"What are you talking about?"
"You said that was the short version. What's the long version."
Matt sighed, knowing that it was hopeless to try and cover this up, "Well, over the summer, Melina went to visit family in Arizona and I found out later that she played me and fooled around with this guy."
"How did you find out?"
"Because," Matt said, "she told me at the end of the summer."
"Oh, Matt!" Miranda exclaimed, "That's horrible!"
"It's okay," Matt said, "Obviously, I've moved on."
Miranda smiled, "That," she said, pausing to give him a small kiss, "Is good to hear."
"Miranda," Matt said, strumming his guitar again, "Did you ever think we'd be sitting here, doing this?"
Miranda squinted, "What do you mean."
"I mean," Matt said, "Has the thought about us ever crossed your mind?"
"You mean you and me as a couple?" Miranda asked.
"Yeah," Matt said.
Miranda paused. She didn't really know how to answer that because, frankly, she wasn't sure of the answer herself, "Probably," she finally said.
"You know, I'm glad you kissed me yesterday."
Miranda kissed Matt softly on the lips, "How could I resist?"
Miranda was about to pull away to get back to the conversation, but Matt wasn't ready to pull away. He pulled Miranda into another, longer kiss. Miranda interrupted the kiss, giggling, "If I would have known we'd be doing this right now, I would have brushed my teeth."
"Your breath is fine," Matt said, pulling her into another kiss. The kiss deepened and Miranda put Matt's guitar on the floor as she leaned into him, bringing him to a lying position with her on top of him, "Mmm," Miranda moaned, "where have you been all my life?"
"Waiting for you," Matt said, pulling her into their most passionate kiss yet. Their time together got more and more heated as their lips smashed together, broke apart, and smashed together again. Miranda, who was on top of Matt, gazed into his eyes and said, "You know, if you weren't my friend's sister and we had been going out for longer, I'd make love to you here and now. You know that, right?"
Matt smiled. Hearing this was like music to his ears. He pulled her into another kiss and the next time they released, he gazed into her eyes and whispered, "I'd do the same to you."
With that, came another passionate kiss and in the next breath of air, Miranda said, "Oh, Matt! I don't know if its this boat or you, but I feel so much passion right now. I know its only been one day, but I feel like we belong together."
"The feeling is mutual," Matt said, pulling her into another kiss. In the mean time, Miranda's hands started to roam under his shirt and she started feeling Matt's abs as they passionately kissed. Matt enjoyed this, especially when Miranda's lips moved to Matt's neck as she did this.
"Oh, Miranda," he mumbled, "If only you knew how long I have waited for this to happen."
"Oh yeah?" Miranda said, pulling up from his neck and gazing at him, "How long?"
"Years."
Miranda raised her eye brows, "Years, huh?"
Matt nodded. He'd never felt this strongly about anyone.
"Well, Miranda said, playing with Matt's shirt, "I'd say we have a lot of catching up to do."
Miranda was about to lean in for another kiss, but was interrupted when they heard the door to the compartment try to open. Miranda both sat up as quickly as possible and tried to compose their selves as Lizzie and Gordo entered the room.
"And when do you two plan on getting dressed?" Lizzie asked, noting they were still in their pajamas.
"Soon," Miranda said.
"Well," Lizzie said, shrugging, "at least you two are wearing clothes."
"And what would you do if we weren't?" Matt dared to ask, while Miranda blushed.
Lizzie looked at her little brother and scoffed, "You are sick, you know that?" and then she looked at Miranda and said, "You know you can do so much better than him, right?"
"Lizzie," Gordo said, "That's enough," then he looked at Matt and Miranda, "We were just leaving for the pool."
"Actually, Gordo," Lizzie said, taking a seat on the bed Matt and Miranda were not sitting on, "I have a headache. Maybe I should just lie down."
Gordo rolled her eyes, "Lizzie, you were feeling fine a few minutes ago."
"I know," Lizzie said, "but now I don't. I think I'll lie down."
"Why don't you go to our room, then?" Gordo said, getting frustrated.
"Oh, Gordo! You are so silly! We spend two nights in the same room and you think that makes us room mates? No, this is my room and I want to lay down."
Matt stood up, followed by Miranda, "We were just leaving anyway."
"Don't you two have to get dressed first?"
"Yeah," Miranda said, getting fed up with her friend. She knew what Lizzie was trying to do and she didn't appreciate it, "But I figured since you were feeling sick, Matt and I would go to the other room and take a shower together."
Lizzie gasped, "What??"
"Yeah," Miranda said, "It saves time, water, and heck, I think it will be a lot of fun! Besides, that way we will be out of your way."
"Wait!" Lizzie said, standing up, she looked at them and laughed nervously, "You guys! I was only kidding," she said.
"No you weren't," Miranda said, "You are acting really immature about this, you know."
"I know," Lizzie said, looking down, "and I'm sorry. I guess it's just a little weird seeing you two together."
"Well it's something you are going to have to get used to," Miranda said.
Lizzie sighed and took a deep breath, "I will. Just give me time. It's weird seeing you with my little brother."
"I'm sorry," Miranda said, "But I just can't help it. I like Matt a lot."
"That still doesn't make it less weirder for me. I mean, I'm glad you are getting along and all, but dating? He's fifteen!"
"So? I'm eighteen. That's only three years older than him."
Lizzie sighed, "Okay, fine. Just give me some time to get used to it, okay?"
"Yeah," Miranda said, "I'll give you all the time you want. Just don't try to ruin it, okay?"
"I won't."
The two girls smiled and exchanged a hug.
So," Miranda said, "When are you two thinking about getting married?"
"Well, I want a long engagement, you know, after college? So, I'm thinking a little over four years. We'll probably move in together in college and get married after that."
"That's good," Miranda said.
"Yeah," Lizzie said, "That way we can give mom and dad and his parents time to get used to the idea."
"Well, good luck," Miranda said, standing up, "Now if you two lovebirds excuse me, I am going to take a shower."
"Yeah," Matt said, me too."
Lizzie looked at the two in horror and Matt smiled.
"Calm down, Lizzie! We are going to use separate showers."
Lizzie sighed in relief, "That's good to hear."
After Matt and Miranda disappeared to take showers, Gordo pulled Lizzie into his lap and pulled her into a kiss before saying, "So, do you still want to lie down for that headache?"
Lizzie sighed, "No, I feel better."
"Good," Gordo said, taking Lizzie's hand and bringing it to his mouth, "Want to get ready to go to the pool."
"Yeah," Lizzie said, grinning. She could now honestly say she felt a little better about the whole Matt and Miranda situation.
