Chapter Nine
Out There
That night was uneventful as Lizzie and Miranda slept in their room and Gordo and Matt slept in the same room. Lizzie and Miranda only talked a little about the wedding before going to sleep. To be truthful, Miranda was thankful for this time apart from Matt because it would give her some time to think about her situation with Matt. How would she define it? Were they going out? Or were they just two lost souls with nothing better to do than to hook up? Miranda pondered over this before going to sleep and the only thing she could come up with was that it was more complicated than simply going out for the heck of it.
They were supposed to reach the islands at some point in the afternoon, so where everyone woke up, they got their bags together and Miranda actually didn't see Matt until they were about to get off the boat. No, she was too busy dealing with Lizzie. Lizzie was busy trying to distract Miranda all morning with either what to wear or what to eat. Miranda put up with it, though, knowing that it was all worth it in the end.
When Miranda finally saw Matt that day, though, she was very tempted to jump him because he looked really sexy in his shirt and shorts. Miranda looked him over and said, "Didn't you wear that shirt yesterday?"
Matt looked at it and then shrugged, "Yeah, so? It isn't dirty?"
Miranda smiled as she quickly kissed Matt on the cheek and then turned to Lizzie and Gordo, who were making out. Ha! And Lizzie was claiming that she was being inappropriate with Matt. Hardly! Lizzie and Gordo didn't even seem to mind that there was an audience watching them, probably because they were in their room and only Matt and Miranda were there.
"Does this feel awkward to you?" Miranda mumbled to Matt as they looked at their other friends sucking face.
"Only slightly. We'll have to remember this the next time they complain about us."
Miranda nodded her head as they went into Miranda's room. (Before, they were in Gordo and Matt's room, packing) Once they were in there, Matt closed the door and made sure it was locked before pulling Miranda's body tightly to his and kissing her forehead, "I missed you last night," he said.
"Oh, yeah?" Miranda said, pushing him on her bed and jumping on top of him, "Good, because I missed you, too."
Miranda looked deeply into Matt eyes before kissing him tenderly on the mouth.
In the meantime, in the other room, Lizzie and Gordo were topless as soon as they realized that Matt and Miranda were out of the room. Normally, Lizzie would have checked in on her little brother and best friend, but Gordo convinced her that they weren't important so before there was any objection, Lizzie and Gordo were on Gordo's bed making one last memory before they went on land. They wouldn't be back on this boat for another three days.
Matt and Miranda hadn't reached that level in their relationship because they had only been going out for two days, but it was tempting, especially when times were as passionate as this. Matt rolled around so he was on top of Miranda, but for now, things between them were G-rated, and maybe with an occasional PG touch.
Each time Matt and Miranda kissed, though, both felt the same connection and that's why when they kissed, it was very hard to stop what they were doing. It was the same thing every time. Matt and Miranda would gaze into each other's eyes and let their heart make the next move, and somehow, their heart was connected to their lips. Matt had a thing for Miranda and Miranda had a thing for Matt. They seemed so perfect for each other…both physically and mentally.
"Oh, Matt," Miranda whispered when Matt kissed her the way that he did, "I don't know how much longer I can take any of this."
"Take any of what?" Matt said, oblivious to the message she was trying to send to him.
"I mean what we are doing."
Matt stopped and looked at her, "Do you want to stop?"
Miranda shook her head, "No, I never want to stop, Matt."
"Than what are you trying to say?"
Miranda smiled, "Isn't it sort of obvious? I want you to make love to me."
The way Miranda said it just made it seem so natural and Matt's eyes widened, "You don't think it's too soon?"
"I've never felt this way about anyone, Matt. I think we are perfect for each other."
Matt looked at Miranda as he wiped her hair from her face, "I love you, Miranda," he said, nervously.
Miranda smiled, "I love you, too, Matt."
Matt didn't waste any time before he leaned back down and gave her a very intense kiss on the mouth that was hard, long, and very eager. Miranda received this kiss with open arms and was even more delighted when she could his excitement between her legs. He wanted her just as much as she wanted him. Instead of taking things one step further, however, Matt pulled away for some air and was breathing hard when he looked in Miranda's eager eyes.
"Miranda," he said, "There is something I need to tell you."
"Oh?" Miranda said, getting nervous.
"I'm a virgin."
Miranda's heart skipped a beat and she didn't know whether this was an invitation or his way of telling her he wasn't ready for that. She only knew how she felt and she herself also was a virgin. But that was something she would give up in the name of love for Matt McGuire. "So am I," Miranda said.
Matt seemed surprised by this because this meant that she was willing to give herself to him. He couldn't take it any longer as if this piece of information attracted him even more to Miranda. He kissed her again, but this time, instead of his hands staying in one place, he let them roam around Miranda's body and up her shirt. Miranda moaned at his touch as she decided it would be easier if her shirt was off. She paused only long enough to take the shirt off and then Matt and Miranda got busy again.
"Lizzie and Gordo can walk in any minute, you know," Matt said as Miranda started unbuckling Matt's pants.
"Yeah," Miranda said, suddenly stopping what she was doing. What was she doing, anyway? Was she being irrational in wanting this? Maybe it was time for them to stop. They had to get off the boat in a few minutes, anyway.
"We'll continue this later," Miranda said, putting her shirt back on.
"Okay," Matt said, rebuckling his belt. They got off the bed and once they were both decent, Matt knocked on the door to Gordo's room.
"Hmm?" he heard on the other side. It was coming from Gordo.
"Are you two decent?"
A few seconds later, the door flew open and Gordo appeared, flushed, "Yeah. Why wouldn't we be?"
Matt and Miranda snickered when they saw Gordo. Unfortunately, he forgot to put his pants back on, so everyone could see his boxers. Gordo caught on to this and blushed, quickly shutting the door and, less than a minute later, reappeared, "Sorry about that."
"It's okay," Miranda said while Matt didn't really know what to say. He just nodded his head. Gordo explained that Lizzie was in the bathroom.
So there you have it. The four teenagers were packed and approximately an hour later, they stepped foot onto St. Thomas and once they gathered up, they decided to check into their hotel and go shopping. This was the girl's idea, of course.
There was a brief discussion about rooming and everyone was pretty surprised to see that Lizzie had no objections to sharing a room with Gordo, even if that did leave Matt and Miranda to a room by themselves. This made everyone happy, though, and once they dropped off their stuff in the room, they met back in the hotel lobby.
"I'm hungry," Matt said once everyone was there.
"So am I," Gordo said.
So the group agreed to go find something for lunch and after that, they decided to go shopping, and the boys weren't planning on going, until they found out that the girls were going shopping for bathing suits. The boys then insisted that they come along and give their opinions.
Little did they all know that their perfect vacation would soon be interrupted.
