This is an extended version of a drabble I posted on the goodomens100 community on LJ, for the Music challenge. I hope you enjoy it. :)
Disclaimer: I don't own the wonderful characters from GO. They belong to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
"I guess this is it then, angel," slurred Crowley, trying to focus clearly on the duck pond. The late afternoon breeze gently rippled the waters empty surface. All the ducks had gone. "Didn't take the bastards long did it? Less than a week after the first try; you have to admire their determination…" The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. He glanced quickly at his watch. "Only one minute to go."
The end was near.
And no book-loving angel and horseless carriage-driving demon was going to stop Heaven and Hell this time.
"Well, they really wanted it to happen. Er." Aziraphale hiccuped drunkenly and passed the bottle of wine back to Crowley. The demon took it gratefully and finished off the bottle, sinking down comfortably in the driver's seat of his beloved Bentley, which was parked a mere few meters from the pond's shore. St James' Park was eerily quiet -- a little too quiet.
Crowley glared at the Blaupunkt, which automatically started playing Queen loudly through the speakers. The demon snorted with amusement.
'We are the champions - my friend… And we'll keep on fighting till the end…'
Five…
Four…
"Well, ciao, Aziraphale."
Three…
Two…
"Yes. Farewell, Crowley…"
