Disclaimer: I don't own Prince of Tennis.

AN: This fic was inspired by the more intense matches between Kirihara/Fuji and Sanada/Echizen from manga canon.

Interesting, Tezuka

Oishi couldn't hide his admiration. He finally understood why Tezuka depended on him so much. Why he was chosen to be the Pillar of Support.

True that he was cocky, arrogant, and a bit annoying every now and then, but they boy never failed to deliver. His attitude was something you had to get used to but he was never selfish. Underneath the surface was a fierce competitor and probably the best teammate anyone could have.

But the Echizen Ryoma that was on the court was the one that Tezuka had depended on. Prior to him coming to Seigaku, Fuji was the man to player to lean on aside from Tezuka. Even with his skills, Tezuka knew though that Echizen would be a better choice as he had something that Fuji didn't have. At least up until now.

The drive to win in the game he loved with the willingness to shoulder the burden of becoming the team's strength.

One so small, yet as tough as the toughest diamond.

The other, a diamond that has finally decided to take an even more elegant shape.

Oishi smirked. Tezuka, how do you know these things? How do you know whom to depend on?

He made a sideways glance and noticed a similar smirk on the senior sempai's face.

Two sides of a coin.

The prince and the prodigy.

The master musician and the unstoppable samurai.

How interesting they are, Tezuka.

After this tournament, he knew that Seigaku would almost be unstoppable now. The geniuses have finally woken up and their hidden potential was slowly surfacing.

And he was finally starting to see it.

"Ne, Eiji…"

"Hm?"

"You see it too, don't you? Those two…"

"Hai." The acrobatic player gave him a knowing glance. "Fuji first…finally breaking out. Then Echizen…Nothing will stop those two now."

Momoshiro shifted. "Those two will power Seigaku with their very best, especially when buchou comes back."

"Then I hope that time is soon."

--

"Ne, Echizen…" Fuji called the freshman's attention as he walked next to him on their way home from the match.

"Yes, sempai?"

Fuji looked up the bright sunny sky. "You know it, don't you?…Tennis…It's interesting."

Echizen tipped his cap and smiled.

"I'm starting to love the thrill from it."

"Mada mada dane."

Tezuka took his cellphone out from his tennis bag and opened the message he just received.

From: Oishi (some random cellphone number)

'Those two are really interesting to watch, aren't they?'

Tezuka thought for a moment and typed a message back.

From: Tezuka

'I told you so.'
