Rory woke to the sound of something hitting her window. She looked at the clock, it was 2 a.m. She went to the window and there he was standing in the grass outside her dorm room window. His face was lit by the glow from the street light.

"Shh...What are you doing here. You nearly gave me a heart attack. " Rory said opening the window.

"I had to talk to you."

"About what." She shot back.

"You and me."

"There isn't a you and me, there is a you and a me. You shouldn't be here, you need to leave."

"What are you going to do about it?" He said in typical Jess style.

"You need to leave."

"How can you look at me now, and just see another guy?" Jess said.

"What?"

"I am more than just another guy to you Rory and you know it."

"Yes, you are more than just a guy, but you aren't my guy not anymore."

"Rory, come on, you know that the dice were loaded from the start of this, and I bet anyway. I put it out there. Then you got inside my heart and now, here I am."

"Now...here you are...then...where were you?"

"When are you going to realize that it was just that the timing was wrong? I am here now. I am ready now."

"No. Jess. No." She said shaking the thoughts from her head, he couldn't be right.

"We came from different places, of course it was going to be hard. But I know where I am now, I know where you need me to be. Our dreams are the same now. I dream of you, I want that dream to be real."

"Jess..."

"You can't just look at me as just another ex boyfriend. Come on, you can't tell me that you are falling for any of these guys here. I know you, you won't fall for chains or silver and gold. You won't fall for pretty strangers or the promises that they make you.
You are smarter than that." Jess said.

"Jess...I promised you everything. I promised you think and thin...and you ran away."

"You can't hold that against me forever. I was an idiot, ok, I was wrong, but I am here now. Rory, I will love you till I die. What more do you want from me? There is a place for us...we can find it. You have to believe me, it was just that the timing...it was all wrong."

"Jess..."

"I can't...I can't say...the right thing all the time. I can't say I love you with out meaning it. I can't do everything, but I'd do anything for you. I can't do anything except be in love with you. Rory, all I do is miss you and the way it was. I'll I do is dream of you, all the time. Come on, you loved me once, I know you can love me again. I am ready now."

"Jess..." She said exasperated.

"You and me how about it?" He said.

Rory sighed.

"Come out here and talk to me."

"Jess...it isn't going to happen, we are over. I am sorry." Rory said as she turned to back away but, she ran into something. Logan stood behind her.

"Is everything ok Ace?" He said.

She looked back out the window. He was gone. Rory took a deep breath, and let it out.

"Who was that?" He said.

"Just a guy I knew." She said, taking Logans hand and leading him back to bed.
She knew that Jess had seen him. She knew that he was somewhere now hurting. She also knew that, she had been the one hurting before, when he wasn't ready for her. Now it was his turn, because she was never going to be ready for him, not again.
