Disclaimer- I don't own ANYTHING , but Akari, or my character.

This is my 3rd story and I don't think I could be able to complete the other one without my cousin…...

Akari's POV

I raced down the fields of grass and plopped down next to Satou, my golden puppy. We stared at the stars as the wind seemed to just slip away from us, and I new something was wrong. At night, the winds of my village never stopped unless something odd was to happen. Last time it did, a woman had died from a wolf bite, which was a few years ago.

Satou and I trudged down the hills and into our kindly village. We looked around and saw no villagers wandering about, looking through markets. No children, who would chase Satou at every turn, no gossiping women, no sturdy men carrying tools or logs. No one.

I ran toward my home, slamming the door open harshly, and found no one. Where did my family go? My brother and sisters, my parents and grandparents, had they left to run errands?

Walking slowly back where I came from, the fields, I sat down again with Satou, and drained my fear of being alone, forgotten, sad.

All the sudden, Satou jumped up and growled at something. I hesitated to get up, fearing that someone might come and kill me. Satou growled louder, frightening me out of my wits, but what I saw was ten times scarier.

A creature, above me, wings spread out and staring at me like I was an odd picture to see. But I wasn't, it was. I dropped to the ground and cradled my knees with my arms. The creature above had a human face, smirking, it said "What's this? A villager up here? Where's your parents, are they DEAD?"

The words stung me terribly. I don't know what happened to my parents. How would he? "What are you and where is my family?!!!" I burst out, surprising myself.

"You're family might be dead for all you know. I don't, because I can't tell between your family and the others. I'm a devil be the way." he stated calmly.

Hesitant about his answer I said "What are you planning to do with them?"

He sent me a chilling smirk and replied coolly "Do? It depends if they're good enough for slavery, or just good enough to eat. Devils are closely related to vampires, so they do tend to give a good meal. You, on the other hand, don't have to worry about DYING, because by the looks of you, you'd serve well as a bride for my brother. Too kind hearted is he, you have a pretty strong will even thou you know your parents may as well be dead."

"Wife," I started uneasily, "I'm too young."

The devil cackled evilly and said "In our clan, no one is too young!" Before I could protest, he swooped me up and flew away. Sleepiness too over me quickly and I drifted off to a deep slumber.
