The blonde warrior was deeply troubled. His thoughts were a tangled mess of despair. "How had this happened? What can I do? What will we do?" Something had happened that no one would believe. Lina Inverse, infamous dragon spooker and bandit killer, had become a princess, Princess Lina. The very words sent chills down his spine. There was no end to the power she had now that she had become the Crown Princess of Saillune. Lina of course had endless amounts of magical power before but that wasn't enough for her no she wanted to be a princess.

"Did she listen to me? No, no one ever listens to me. Well at least, I'm not fool enough to lose the most important thing. ," Gourry thought. He then pulled on his swords belt and went out to find Lina and he would be the one to save her this time.

It all began on a dark, stormy day, Lina Inverse, sorceress extraordinaire, and, her traveling swordsman, Gourry Gabriev were looking for shelter in a desolate forest they had been traveling through. The rain had started pouring when they entered this forest. It soaked them and the rain fell ,likepebbles of ice although it was rain. It was alsostrange that above them the skywas a deep blue but the rain stillfellthe cloudless sky. Lina and Gourry had not noticedthis for they were distracted by therumbling, booming thunder and lighting. Lighting struck a treenearby them the tree caught fire briefly before the pelting rain extinguished the flame;both Gourry and Lina cried out in fright. The lighting flash illuminated a small building. An ancient sign swung in the biting wind. In graying letters it read The Do or Die Inn . Lina upon smelling food nearly ran into the Inn. Gourry grabbed her cloak hindering her entrance. "Let go of me Gourry we are going inside,"Lina growled trying to free herself from his powerful grip.

"Lina, I don't know about this place. It looks dangerous. Why don't we go to the next Inn?" Gourry replied eyeing the structure.

The Inn indeed was not a welcoming, cozy Inn. The roof was acrmsion redand the building was pitch black. The sign looked as if it had been painted with ashes. There were no windows and though there was light coming from underneath the door it was an eerie candle light. A light that would cast more shadows than light. Every time the lighting flashed Gourry saw danger. Lina saw shelter and food. The roof was jagged and the door handle was a wooden skull. The entire building seemed to lean with the wind it was unstable and looked as if it would collapse any second. Thunder boomed and lighting flashed as Gourry felt a deep dread and angst as Lina pulled roughly away from him.

Lina was wet, cold, and hungry and when she is the latter nothing can stand in her way not even a creepy building or Gourry's warning.

"Gourry you have three seconds before blast you through the door and if you think I'm kidding you're dead wrong. Dead wrong" ,she hissed. Gourry hesitated still but when she began counting he opened the door gripping his sword handle he prepared for what evil lurked in there.
