I had an urge to write more to this story, so this is the second part to Unforgetable. Please read and review.
Alan lay trembling in his father's arms. He moaned, the pain of his crushed airway becoming too much for him now. Tears rolled from his cheeks as he looked at his father. He could feel his father's hand running along his cheek, moving up to move his hair out of his eyes. He gasped for breath; he knew it was his time…he knew death was coming. He wanted to see his brothers for one last time. He could hear them talking, but they seemed so far away. He felt as John took his hand in his own. His brothers crowded over him, begging him to stay with them. Alan's eyes closed, as he took his last breath. Light consumed him…
Jeff held his youngest son tight in his arms. He felt as tears stung his eyes, he had to be strong…for Alan. He ran his hand over his son's cheek before moving it brush Alan's hair from his eyes. He heard his soon gasp, as he tried to pull air into his lungs
'Hold on Alan, help will be here soon' Jeff turned round to see his five sons', they all crowded round Alan. He could feel Gordon's hand rest on his shoulder. Jeff could hear his sons all begging their little brother to stay. He watched as Alan closed his eyes, his chest stopped rising…
Scott moved closer to his father and his little brother. He took deep even breaths as he looked over Alan's trembling body. Him and his brothers seemed to encircle Jeff and Alan, they all stood over him tears in their eyes.
'Al…alan…' he stuttered, 'Not long now…'
He watched as his brother died before his eyes, he wrapped his arms round Virgil holding his brother again his chest.
John fell to his knees beside his little brother, taking Alan's hand in his own. He couldn't speak his throat felt so dried, he himself found it hard to breath. He watched as his brother's life was taken away from him, tears tumbled down his pale cheeks.
Virgil moved so slowly as he came close behind Scott, he was watching his brother die. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He sniffled as he tried to hold back tears. 'Tell mom we love her…' was all he could say, he barely finished the sentence as his brothers chest stopped rising. He felt his knees go weak as he fell into Scott's arms; his older brother wrapped his arms around him holding him against his chest.
Gordon stumbled forwards, letting his brothers before him. His hand rested on his father's shoulder. Tear stung his eyes, but he held them back. He watched as Alan closed his eyes and took his final breath. He just stood there frozen to the spot.
