Major/Alpha-Bravo Company
Lieutenant Rogers leaned back in his chair, Battle rifle in his hands. He watched through the front windows as the pilots of the Galiani18 prepared the ship for entrance through the Scarebis gravity field.
"Lieutenant, we're all clear," the pilot said to Rogers.
"Entrance time?" Rogers asked.
"Eight minutes, sir," the co-pilot replied.
"I'll alert the men," Rogers replied.
"Yes sir," the pilot said.
Lieutenant Rogers opened up the door behind him and walked into the back of the ship, where his men were sitting, ready for what was about to come.
"Men, we've got eight minutes before we enter the atmosphere of Scarabis. You all know our mission today. We must stop the Covenant forces from taking a foothold near the UNSC Intelligence Base." Rogers looked around at the faces of his men. They were ready.
Rogers walked to the doorway. "Pilot," he yelled into the cockpit.
"Yes, sir?" the pilot asked.
"Get in touch with Major Company, will you?" Rogers asked.
"Can do sir!" the pilot said.
"Good," Rogers said to himself.
"Sarahsine223, where is your position? Over," The pilot buzzed in on a radio.
"Right behind you and ready to enter the atmosphere, over," the pilot of the Sarahsine223 replied over the radio.
"Sir, Major Company's right behind us," the pilot reported to Rogers.
"Thank you, Captain," Rogers said.
"Anytime," the pilot replied.
The Galiani18 set down and opened the rear landing ramp onto Scarabis. The men of Alpha-Bravo Company loaded their weapons and marched out of the ship, Lieutenant Rogers following behind them. In front of them stood the UNSC Intelligence Base.
"Sir, sir!" a man was yelling as they ran towards Rogers from the Base. He sounded like they were in trouble. Suddenly, a Plasma Rifle blast came out of nowhere and hit the man.
"Man your battle stations, men!" Rogers said, lying down on the ground and firing in the direction of the blast.
A glowing blue ball with a trail of blue flames leading behind it landed in front of his men. "GET DOWN!" Rogers yelled. "IT'S A PLASMA GRENADE!"
It was too late. The grenade blew up, causing Roger's men to go flying everywhere.
