Summary: How I thought the writers could present to us how Eric and Calleigh came to have their first date (if one may regard it as such).

Disclaimer: None of this is mine. All belong to Bruckheimer, Zuiker, plus a bunch of people at CBS. And I suppose, Emily Procter and Adam Rodriguez own themselves.

A/N: I really want to write a simple and short E/C story. There is seriously a lack of E/C fics in this site, though for the life of me, I can't figure out why. These two are the only CSIs who continually flirt, in my opinion. First E/C and CSI:Miami fic for moi, so excuse the mediocrity.

Date

Calleigh popped her pretty little blonde head into Eric's lab. Today her hair was in ringlets and Eric could not help but think that she was as cute as a button. Of course it didn't help that she had on one of those smiles; the one that she sported whenever she wanted something.

"You got a minute?"

"What's up, Cal?"

She entered the room and took a deep breath, "I need a favor."

"Shoot."

"Can you give me a ride home? I had to take my car to the shop this morning and the station can't give me any replacement until tomorrow. I know that you have that date tonight, so I'll be really quick. It's just that I can't ask anyone else and I don't want to lug around my kit in a taxi. I'll even make it up to you. Buy you dinner some other time? It's a good deal, Eric."

He looked at her pleading face and chuckled, "You don't even have to ask me, Cal. Sure I'll drive you home. And you don't need to buy me dinner, though I wouldn't mind grabbing a bite to eat tonight."

"What about your date?"

"What date?"

"I heard you talking about it to Tyler earlier."

"Nah, I was just teasing him. He really has the most unfortunate love life."

"Oh, alright then. So I'll see you after work?" She put one hand on his chest in one of those unconscious gestures.

"See you, then." He placed his hand on her upper arm without even realizing it.

Eric then went back to work as Calleigh turned to walk out of the room.

"Thanks again, Eric," she said with a bright smile on her face.

"Don't mention it, Cal," he replied with a matching smile on his face.

A/N: Don't you just love their subconscious touches and smiles? Don't know if this is going to be a standalone or series. Review if you like, please.
