Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon and make no profit from this story.
I used to think Sailor Moon was a different person than me. I thought that I said the magic words and someone else took over, someone more powerful and confident. Even the first time it was like that, contrary to appearances. Even though I had Sailor Moon's memories I still thought of Sailor Moon as someone else. After all, she was so different than me! But after Anne and Alan left I found out how wrong I was.
"Do we have to?" I whined.
"Yes." My father said strictly. "We haven't been out as a family for a long time and we're going for a family picnic."
"I'll pack lots of food Serena." Mom said. foooood. foooood. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
"Ok!"
It didn't take very long to get out the door and to the park with my mom guarding the picnic basket from my semi-desperate attacks.
"This is nice." Dad said as my mom whacked my hand again and Sammy set out the food.
"You can eat now Serena." My mom said. fooood. fooood. Yay!
But before I could attack the food and do magic-namely making it disappear-there was a crashing in the bushes. I looked up-right into the yellowy gaze of a youma!
"AHHHH!" I shrieked. My parents and Sammy were screaming too but for vastly different reasons. Yes, I was scared but I also was shocked that there was a left over youma. I scuttled back to my parents, spilling over the picnic basket.
My dad ran to stand in front of me. "Run everyone!" Now I really wanted to scream. How could I run to transform with my dad facing a minion of hell? Better yet, Mom and Sammy weren't running!
Well, I wouldn't be able to transform. The youma began powering up a giant laser on its arm. What kind of youma was this anyway?
"Sirjury!" it screeched. Well, that answers that question. The arm pointed at my dad.
"You won't hurt my daughter!" he shouted, his voice quaking as he faced doom.
And then it happened. My terror faded away. I couldn't let him do this for me. I stood up, the confidence and power I thought belonged only to Sailor Moon filling me. I raced at the youma. Ok, strike the speech and cool keywords. Don't have time. I'll just think them. Sailor Kick
"Owwww!" the youma complained, falling back. "Laser Incision!" The blue beam'o'death narrowly missed me as I grabbed the picnic knife.
Moon Frisbee The silvery blade flashed through the air and cleanly sliced the youma in two before returning to my hand. The youma crumbled to dust, wailing all the while.
"YES!" I shouted, victoriously. My family was staring at me in shock. "Ummm, what?!" I pretended to whine.
"Serena…" My mom started.
"That was so cool!" Sammy said enthusiastically.
"How did you…" My dad stuttered.
"Uh, Lita taught me?" I tried not to make it a question.
"Not even Sailor Moon could have done better!" Sammy said; high praise from my brother.
But I knew he was wrong. Because I do not become Sailor Moon. I am Sailor Moon.
Author's Note: I really hope you liked this. I wrote it a few years ago but thought I'd still share. Anyway, review and let me know what you thought. I live for reviews!
