CHAPTER ONE: THE BEGINNING

Leandra Baldasarre woke with a nervous feeling one morning. It was the morning that she would leave for 'Wizarding School'. Her mother, Rosetta, was a witch,who was highly skilled in Charms. Rosetta fell in love with a muggle, named Andrew Baldasarre, and they were married. He was pleased to learn that his wife was a witch. Leandra would follow in her mother's footsteps by attending 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry'.

Leandra was 11 years old. She had long auburn hair and emerald green eyes. She was fairly pretty, but never believed it when she was told. She packed up all of the things she would need for school, including her tawny colored owl, Appleby (named after her favourite Quidditch team,the Appelby Arrows) and went into the family room.

"I'm all packed up"

said Leandra as she entered the room

Her parents looked at her and smiled

"Ok, so you have wand, robes, quills..."

inquired Rosetta but Leandra stopped her

"I triple checked mum, I have everything"

said Leandra reassuringly

"Well, lets get to the train station"

said Andrew

They packed up their automobile with Leandra's things and made their way to 'Kings Cross station'.

Leandra was nervous the whole way to the train station. She didn't know any one and she wasn't the best at making friends. She was also excited. She was eager to learn all of the subjects and become a witch like her mother. Before she knew it, they had arrived at 'Kings Cross'.

"Here we are dearie"

said Andrew getting out of the car

Leandra got out of the car and looked around

"I'll show you how to get onto the Platform, sweetheart"

said Rosetta as they packed Leandra's things on a trolley.

Leandra kissed her father good-bye and left with her mother. Leandra pushed the trolley to Platform 9 and 10. When they got there Rosetta handed Leandra her train ticket.

"Platform 9 ¾ ?"

asked Leandra

"Its between Platforms 9 and 10,you run straight at the wall, that's how you get there"

Leandra inhaled deeply and held on to the trolley. She ran at the wall between the platforms and came out on the other side to see a station with people and a big train that read 'Hogwarts Express'.

"Wow"

said Leandra with a smile on her face

Rosetta joined her daughter on the Platform

"Let's go and get your things loaded sweetheart"

said Rosetta

Leandra nodded and she brought the trolley over to the bag men who began to load her things. After that,they walked towards the front of the train so that Leandra could board. Leandra turned to her mother before boarding.

"You'll be OK, Leandra, I promise"

said Rosetta

Leandra nodded and hugged her mother

"I love you,mum"

Leandra said

"I love you too sweetheart, now you go and get a seat!"

said Rosetta

Leandra nodded and boarded the train

Most of the compartments were already full of students. Eventually she came across a compartment with one person in it, and Leandra decided to join her.
