So close yet so far

You stand there like an angel,

Perfect in every way without any faults,

It takes all my strength not to faint

You leave me breathless,

And I love the feeling,

Enchanted by your every move.

But like a star,

As much as I wish I can only look.

So I watch you like your shadow.

You're so close yet so far,

You're my friend for now,

But right now I want more from you.

With everything we've been through together,

You've managed to steal my heart.

However I'm afraid to tell you,

For fear of you laughing.

So for now I just watch in the shadows,

Hoping and praying that one day,

You'll be more than just a friend.

Like a star,

You're so close yet so far away.
