Reflection of Long Ago
The sea is calm.
I can see another person's life in it.
The smell of fresh water makes me
dizzy with dreams.
A gentle wind blows to the shore
and I see a reflection,
memories of long, long ago.
Of a girl just like me.
She came to the same beach,
the same sea.
She stood in the same sunshine
and felt the same need in her heart
She wasn't as lost as I am now.
And I see a boy calling to her,
to this person, frightened and scared.
As I come closer I see
that this girl and I
are the same.
I was that girl
From long ago.
