Title The Red Book of Poems

Poem Fool

Rated I'll be shocked if it's higher than a PG, really.

Author's Note It's a poem. For the first time ever posted by me on this site. I think. --;;

Summary The scene is from the end of the Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo is the speaker. If you need more information than that you probably shouldn't be reading Lord of the Rings fan fiction, eh?

Disclaimer Tolkien's dead, so I'm obviously not him, so I obviously don't own The Lord of the Rings. So I can't have my hobbits. Rub it in, why don't ya? cries and goes to hug Sam

Fool

I said good bye to you today
None of us wanted it to end this way
One we lost, more will follow
These tears I cry I'll have to swallow

When I made my way to my escape
You quickly followed my frail shape
I didn't know until it was too late
That staying together was our only fate

Running by the path of moss
And then through murky waters you did cross
For me, my dear, you almost drowned
And by your loyalty we are truly bound

A fool I was, to leave you so
After the promise you made not so long ago
I kiss your cheek and hold you tight
We'll be together at the end of this fight

Author's Note II That's it. Short, no? Review please? I might continue, one of these days… unless, you know, that's a bad thing. Then you should probably tell me that I suck, right? But otherwise I guess I'll just have to keep writing more poems…
