He stands outside autopsy watching her. She's still wearing the same clothes she did when the shooting took place. The case was moving along so quickly after that that he didn't have time to let her go home and change – and for him to do a lot other things, like talking to her properly, making her see what happened from another perspective.

He knows she is a trained agent, and used to lead a life prepared to kill someone with for the slightest suspicious of harming the President; she is also a Catholic that goes to church regularly and still has her faith. The kid was innocent, and it almost destroyed her when she found out. He can understand what she's feeling. In her eyes, what she did by the pool today was a deadly sin. Punishable by death.

He curses his inability to express his emotions freely. He doesn't deal well with emotions, and he doesn't know how to reach out to her. He can only watch, from afar, the woman that tugs at his hearts fall apart, beating herself to death over something over which she didn't have control.

He can only watch, and hope he knows what to say to make her feel better.
